Hyper activity disorder?!

Question: Hyper activity disorder!?
I recently received a lot of great advice on here about my son that has hyperactivity disorder, so I am hopeing it will help again!. He is doing much better after behavior therapy!. We are taking the non-medication approach and are keeping him busy with constructive activities!. My biggest problem with him now is his behavior on the bus!. In class we let him stand if he wants to and we give him extra work to occupy him at all times!. Does anyone know of a practicle way to keep him entertained on the school bus!? I have tried to find something, but I simply can not think of a way to occupy him safely and without noise or a mess while in a moving vehicle!. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Does he have a video game or something!. That tends to be the best way to keep a child busy in a car!. Or on a bus!. Like a psp!. Or the cheaper waty would be like a nintendo gameboy!. They are always ad easy way to keep kids busy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

How about reading!? CD player WITH headphones!? How about a camera on the bus!?

Why would I suggest a camera on the bus!? Well, if he knows there is a camera, he is less likely to act out!.

See, not only do you need to occupy his time, but you need to adjust the behavior and change it as well!. He learns nothing about control if you simply occupy him all the time!.

I have TWO children with the same problems and then some!.

Modifying the behavior is not just occupying it!. He MUST learn control!. A suggestion that has been VERY VERY HELPFUL for me has been to enroll my child in Kung FU!. A very firm teacher who is also understanding of the need!. IT HAS DONE WONDERS for my child, WONDERS!!! It teaches them to take direction and to control impulses!. It teaches them that there are consequences for NOT following directions and not having control!. It teaches them about what triggers their impulse to be hyper and how to contain it!. It teaches how to relax and focus!. It, as I said, has done wonders for my child!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

challenge him give him a task like if you give him a coloring book tell you bet he can't color three pages while on the bus on the way home and to school!. Ipod or Mp3 player tell him that he probably can't tell you 4 songs he listened to on the way to and from school!. any type of challenge puzzles, books, etc!.!.!.!. then let him tell you what he done then tell him he done a goos job that there will be something different the next day!. hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Try neurotherapy, or EEG biofeedback (2 different terms for the same thing)!. A good therapist using this method can teach him to control his own brain states!. Results are often very good!. There is a professional organization, the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA), that certifies practitioners and provides a list of them online!. I believe the website is bcia!.org!. There are also some very good practitioners who are not members!. Check out EEG Spectrum for a lot of information on the method!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

How about one of those things called an etch-a-sketch!? He could play with it and keep himself entertained by writing or drawing with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try coloring books!. Also those handheld games!. Some of them come without noise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
