Rough day with new medicine, can I get some encouragement please?!

Question: Rough day with new medicine, can I get some encouragement please!?
Hi!. I just started to take Lexapro yesterday for depression!. I feel terribly dizzy and nauseated and spaced out! I know these things take a few weeks to get worked out and I need to be patient!.
But I'm stuck in my house (I should not drive a car!!) and bored and sorta frustrated!.
Thanks :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I totally understand!. The first month is HARD to get through!. I hope you get feeling well very fast!. Hang in there!. There are no words to describe how bad you feel on the medication and also how bad you feel without the medication!. The good news is that once the medication starts working, you should feel better! Just depressing that it takes several weeks!. Hey, take a calander and start marking off the days! Try to think positive as much as possible!.

God Bless! : )Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont rely on medication to give you a boost, a lot of times it is not clinical with depression,so it can be mind over matter!.It depends on what the route of your problem is!.I was prescribed a pill called Exfexor XL which had similiar severe side effects,I was completely zombified 12 hours after taking one pill,I felt sick and dizzy and couldnt eat at all for 24 hours!.That put me off taking any pills for half a year until I tried another pill and was fine!.It may be that the pills just dont agree with your body(you are sensitive to something in them) !.I would say see how it goes and if you dont start too feel better, switch to another pill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your side affects are that severe I would call your doctor and let them know!. There are many drugs out there for depression - my daughter is finally getting off of hers and she's doing well so there is light at the end of the tunnel!.

Your medication shouldn't make you feel worse and being cooped up in the house not driving or being able to take a walk will not help your depression!.

Give it another day and if it doesn't get better - make the call!. It could be when you are taking it to - any instruction to take with or without food!?!?!?

You are smart not to drive - good luck to you and I hope it all balances out soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your doctor just to make sure the side effects you are experiencing are in the range of what they consider normal!. Lexapro can cause a lot of side effects at the beginning, but your spaced out and terribly dizzy symptoms are something you should ask them about!. You're smart not to drive!. Being stuck in the house is frustrating whatever the reason!. Treat yourself special, take a warm bath, search for funny stuff online!. If you get hungry later, order pizza and have it delivered!. I hope you feel better tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first month is really difficult to get through!. The first two weeks were really the worst of it for me, and then after that it got better day by day!.

Rest!. Watch movies!. Read!. I did a lot of reading when I was first on Lexapro (I was home too) and the reading was a good distraction from the creepy feeling of adjusting to the meds!.

You will be ok!. The meds will level out in your system!. Getting there is super tough, but it is worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Medicine usually gives u effect like that!.Ur depression must be on the higher level, coz u have to take med!.but i know u can cope with the depression,at least u take action before the depression become worse!.try do something fun at home, such as reading novel, surf da net, watching tv!.!.!.anything that can keep ur mind busy!.u can also talk to someone to accompany you!.u can IM me right now (im on9 now),then we can talk!.take care and may God bless u!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I started I started at half a dose and gradually worked my way up!. Are you doing this!? If not, could you!? Maybe call your doctor about adjusting the dose so the first few weeks aren't so hard!.

I adjusted in about a week, and it was worth it, so hang in there!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you will be fine because i take depression medicine and it took a few weeks to kick in and work!. if you have myspace change yours up or you can add me www!.myspace!.com/jessica_elizabeth09

do you have a good book to read, or the medicine that intense!. Look up wierd stuff on the internet!. That's what I do when I am bored!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

what's Lexapo!?

Anyway, don't rely too much on medicine, have an apple and good exercise to keep yourself healthy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

deppression is tricky, no two people will have exactly the same symptoms!. i have tryed several medications i am still currently on medication, and no medication will completely take all the symptoms away and no medications will be a happy pill!. i suggest you go to webmd!.com and type in your symptoms and if it comes up deppression, print out the results and go talk to your doctor!. but some of the best advice i can give you is get plenty of rest, eat properly, and try and get exercise, even though there are days you wont want to eat and you will sleep to much and you will not have energy to exercise!. it is one of those things two steps forward one step back type of thing!. another good thing i find that helps is a schedule!. have a steady schedule when to get up and when to go to bed and try and stick with it!. and get a journal and docutment your symptoms and how you feel what you eat and how much you exercise and sleep every day, you may find that some things are tyed to how much you sleep our what you eat!. i know that if i east salt i get a really bad headach and then all i do is sleep, and then i dont want to eat because i dont feel good but if i dont eat, i feel worse!. i hope this makes sense!? but keeping a journal will help you track your progress and syptoms and see if there are any trends that correlate to your symptoms and it will help you and your doctor keep track of which treatment would help you the best!. i hope this helps!. i find the things that help me the most is a schedule, eating, pleanty of rest and some freash air!. and dont beat your self up if you have a bad day!. think of every day as a new day!. ok i had a bad day yester day but that is gone and today is new, and lets give it a good try and do the best i can for the day!. like i tell my kids good better best never let it rest till your good is your best and your best is your very best, and dont let it rest until you can say that you have done your very best for that day before you lay your head down for some rest!. good luck!. i hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
