What part of the brain does the depression takes place?!

Question: What part of the brain does the depression takes place!?
Answers:
Depression does not effect a specific region of the brain, rather, the effect is pervasive!. Depression effects the neurotransmitters (chemicals which bathe the synapses between the neurons in the brain)!. Serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine are examples of neurotransmitters with proven roles in depression!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i agree with michele, neurotransmitters play a part in depression!. but to answer you question, most doctors agree that depression takes place somewhere in the limbic system (due to the fact that depression not only shows a single part of the brain, but other regions as well) the limbic system is the part that regulates emotions (especially the amygdala), sexual drives, stress responses and the like!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
