Depression before bed?!

Question: Depression before bed!?
I tend to get depressed during the night anywhere from a few hours before bed or while in bed getting ready to sleep, typically getting urges to do something other than sleeping, such as reading, watching tv, etc!. in order to avoid the depressed feeling!. If I decide to give into these urges (which I typically do), the feelings stop until returning to bed, and if I don't, I remain depressed and have difficulty sleeping!. Because of this, I obviously find myself extremely tired during the day!. I don't get depressed at any other time of the day; just around bedtime!. What could be causing this and is there any way to stop it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you live alone!? If so maybe it's just the fact that your alone in your house!. During the day your going to work, watching tv, and talking to people!. While getting ready for bed, it's typically quiet and your head can start to fill up with worries and the fact that your alone and by yourself and it can be a little depressing!. It's hard for me to put into words, I can sometimes feel the same way at that time too!. It the quietness and darkness of the house, and all you can think about I can think about is what I might have done wrong at work or all the things I need to do the next day!. The best thing to do while getting ready for bed is to play some upbeat music or turn the TV on to disract your mind from going to those places!. But when you actually have to go to bed you have to turn those things off!. I have a cd that I play while I go to sleep that has just some white noises and soft music playing!. It actually has sublimital messages in it, I got it from my hypnotherapyst!. (mines for anxiety, you could get one for depression or something)!. Sometimes it can take me from 30 to 1 hour to fall asleep because my mind races with crazy thoughts!. The music and white noises help but other than that you just have to deal with it as best as you can!. Oh also I started taking zurtec for my alergies and it casue drowsiness so i take it and hour before bed and then it helps me to fall asleep faster than usual!. So hopefully I helped you out a bit, and good luck on getting some rest!Www@Answer-Health@Com

WOW!. i get EXACTLY this sometimes!. like i'll go through a stage of a month where i just get really lonely and depressed before i sleep and the only way i could get rid of it was by getting up doing something!. and its never been for ANY specific reason!.!.at least that i''m aware of!. when this has happened, everything else in my life has gone fine, and i cant really contorl when it happens and when it doesnt!. i actually got mentally addicted to sleeping pills a little while back because of this exact reason!. try seeing a therapist maybe, i never did, but i'm sure itll help!. other then that all i can suggest is to try and go to sleep/ wake up at the same time everyday!.!.it should help get your body in cycle, use nyquil or melatonin or something in the begining to get used to it!.!.just make sure you dont DEPEND on it like i did!. also what helps me alot is putting myself in a peaceful mood before bed!.dont worry about sleeping or the next dday and just think about the thing that makes you most happy!. best wishes:)Www@Answer-Health@Com
