Why don't I want help from my depression?!

Question: Why don't I want help from my depression!?
I have been depressed for well over two months now, and I was refurred from my guidance counselor to go and see a therapist to get help!.
When the therapist asked me if i wanted my suicidal thoughts to stop, and to feel better, I didn't know whether I did or not!. I feel like in some way, I don't want to be helped!. Is that odd!? Why do I feel that way!?
*I also feel angry that I have family because then, if I kill myself then im being "selfish," but if there is no one to leave behind, then I can leave this world guilt-free!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is something you are gaining from your depression!.
It is like this guy on tv yesterday he was a wife basher and he kept doing it though he knew it was wrong because he was scared if he stopped he would be more intimate with her and if he ever lost her it would hurt more!.

I think this is a similar thing!. There is something holding you back from getting better!. Something about being depressed makes you feel better in a way!? am i close!?

The best way to sort this all out is continuing to go see the therapist and they will be able to talk you through all of your issues!.

Don't give up on yourself!. Thinking you want to get better is just a substitute for change!. You have to actually do something about getting better, not just tell yourself you will some day!.

You can get through this!. I am 100% sure!.

Wanted to add in my experience, i didn't wanna be helped because i used my illness as an excuse for things!. I was just sick of uni and all that so i used depression to separate me from those kind of things and all my responsibilities!.
One day i just got a reality check from a close friend and i went to the dr and got medication and i eventually recovered!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some times being depressed and remaining so becomes a convenient way of gaining attention from others in the form of sympathy!. You simply get off on everyone fussing over your state and trying to cheer you up!. However in the long term as your therapist will tell you, you are far better learning how to overcome or at manage your condition!. It is not healthy for you to stay unassisted!. You may actually deteriorate into other conditions far worse and believe me, you don't really want to go down that path or that far!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is sometimes easier to stay with what we know - even if it is bad for us or harms us - than it is to go into the unknown!. It is the same reason many people stay with an abusive person!. If you have never been in a happy place inside, there is fear about the change!. At least with the current situation, you know what you are dealing with!. You understand the pain!.

The choice to go into the realm of the unknown and be happy is yours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with Wen!. We sometimes feel comfortable in our situation even though it's harmful!. The fear of change can hold us back from making any kind of progress!. Try this: tell yourself you're going to give getting help a try and see how it goes!. Then DO IT!. I know that if you get to feeling better, you will not miss feeling depressed!. You're missing out on life while you put this off day after day!. Please, please say yes to your therapist!. You will not regret it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know how you feel!. You just need to get the help!. I lived with depression and other feelings for years!. Once I got help I felt better and better!. Remember that suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem!. All problems can be worked through!. Keep your head up!. It will get better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ive felt this before!. i think its because being happy is boring!. when your depressed you always have something you need to fix or analyze!. you always have something to think about!. when your happy theres really nothing to improve!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You benefit from your depression because it makes you feel something strong without it you would just be bored!. So you hang on to your depression just so you can feel something!. It can be addictive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need help whether you want it or not!. Seek the help, get medicated, and get into some serious counseling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know!. I kinda feel the same way as you do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
