I suffer from Bi-polar disorder and for three years I took the medicines perscribed by my psychatrist and doctors!. This was nothing but a chemical cosh!. I really realised this the day that I listened to a piece of music that, no matter whether I was high or low, always moved me in some way only to find that I felt absolutely nothing - In my opinion that feeling of nothingness is the most painful there is!. So I took the steps to free myself of this medication and to find ways to deal with my down days!. This means that life is harder for me than most and that I have to work very hard to get through some days!. But i believe that this is my mind and I am the best one to control it!. I am now back to enjoying my music and books most days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you know, what i miss is the highs!. yeah, the depression was bad, but when you are bipolar you have the other extreme too, where i has energy and drive!. all the work i've done has kind of smoothed things out, but life feels flat sometimes, niether good or bad!. it kind of feels like you just go from one day to the next, kind of hopeless or pointless to a point!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Concentration!. I can no longer read anything longer then a chapter!. I can't make it through an hour TV show!. I can't stand comedy TV!. I used to be a news junkie and now all I see is junk on the news!. I could care less about the election, so far I haven't heard anyone say anything that would help the nation!. I have trouble completing thoughts and spelling!. I have terrible short term memory!. Need I go on!?

I don't miss anything about the days before I dealt with a variety of my issues!. But my treatments were all counselling ones, no medical treatments!. My son was on a variety of meds for ADHD and he hated how he felt on all of them!. When he graduated high school and left home, he quit taking them (Because he couldn't afford them any longer)!. I think he has had a handful of times in the past 6 years where he wishes he was on the meds, but the majority of time he is managing things relatively well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I stopped playing ball, stopped listening to music, stopped playing guitar and preferred to stay in by myself!. It took a long time to heal!. But I am coming back!. Give it time and keep trying! Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
