Question: Im doing a project on Treatment of Mental Illness, i need help!?
OK, im not asking for answers, if youre reading this Mrs!. Kling!.!.!.!.
Ok, My project is a global issues project, and i chose to point out the 'wrongness' of treatment for mentally ill!. I may not sound like the brightest bulb in the bucket, but bare with me!.
I need a little help in finding information about global treaments, and finding pictures!.
If it's like a news article about how bad the treatment is, that would be great!

I have bipolar disorder and think that you premise is based on lack of knowledge of what treatment really is these days!. Medication is a life saver!. I would be dead without it!. Instead, I live a normal life!. Millions are like me!. The days of the barbaric insane asylums in the west are pretty much gone except for the most untreatable, non-med responsive cases, and the only reason they exist is because society does not want these ppl in society!. You will fiind millions of others with serious depression (do you even consider that a mental illness!?), debilitating anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, even schizophrenia who also can live normal lives with medication who feel the same!. Same goes for folks with personality disorders who spent years in therapy to overcome them!. Those who have a problem with treatment tend to be those in denial living miserable lives either secluded from the world or making it miserable for everyone around them!. The problems aren't treatment, they are lack of treatment expertise in many parts of the world, lack of access to medications in many parts of the world, lack of affordable medication to many, lack of access to adequate treatment for many, lack of funding for treatment, and lack of reseach funding!.
One other thought, if your premise is survival of the fittest!.!.!. we had over 2,000 years of that and it's only the last 60 years that there have been actual treatments for mental illnesses!. The statistics for occurances in the population have not changed in that time!. They will remain the same even if you killed us all off tomorrow, and the elimination of treatment will achieve that to a fairly large degree!.
I understand taking a position on a paper!. I just believe taking one that is reasonably defensible is a better approach!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think it is wrong to treat the mentally ill!. The mentally ill need to be stabalized so they can not be a danger to society!. My son attacked a teacher at school because his meds were off!. Luckily he's small and his teacher was big, so no one was hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
