Question: Help with son!. 25 years!?
Son 25 years old just went into treatment for heroin and now I'm reading that methadone is used for treatment and just as bad what treatments work best any info would help!. Only there for 30 days and not sure of what we are in for next!. Are there any treatments that work best for the addiction!. I've read that herbs and vitamins can help what do I do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Heroin is a terrible drug that I've never done, but have had close contact with!. I would suggest a very intensive treatment right off the bat!. From my experience heroin is the most addictive and hardest thing to stop doing out there!. Inpatient treatment must be followed up by intensive outpatient therepy and he must not be around anyone that he used with, or that causes him stress to relapse and use again!. He needs good, loyal family and close friends that will keep him safe!.!.!.because the desire to use again will always be there!.
My good friend just completed a two month program after about a year of using and stealing and killing himself, he relapsed at least three times!. Finally he turned himself in and wanted to get his life back and he is!. He goes to outpatient therapy every day if he needs to, because he wants to raise his son!. It's still a struggle for him but what keeps him on the right path is us and his family!. It has to be a close knit group of people he loves!. And cares about!.

Methadone is given to keep the patient calm, but they will reduce the dose gradually until the patient is free of heroin, but it will take longer than 30 days and the patient must keep up the work!. The patient will need to keep away from the people who will give him drugs in the future!.
Herbs and vitamins won't get rid of an addiction but the patients needs to eat well (something they have not been doing for a while) so a supplement of vitamins will be of benefit!.

you can get good advice from support groups!. try Narcotics anonymous and they can probably tell you where to go for family member support!. 30 days is probably not gonna make much difference!. ,,prayers!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
im not very sure about drug addict!.!. but to treat an addict smoker, (i read somewhere before) they give them nutmeg to eat to control the addiction!.!. maybe its the same with drug treatment!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
