Hey! Well done for coming off benzo's - it's really hard to do!.

Valium is extremely addictive and the dose you were taking was quite high too, so even 4 weeks worth will have made quite an impact on your body!.

Withdrawal from benzodiazepine medication is a lot like withdrawal from alcohol!. The symptoms you describe, plus difficulty sleeping, stomach cramps, nausea, low mood and a risk of seizures and blackouts!. The risk of seizure is highest around the 4th/5th day, if you start to feel very unwell (shakes, hallucinations, delirium) I would strongly advise you seek medical assistance!. It may have been better to have slowly reduced your meds, i!.e!. 35mg, 30mg etc to give your body and brain a chance to adjust to lower amounts!. The detox would have been less strenuous too!.

The physical symptoms tend to have completely subsided by day 10-12, however the psychological symptoms can persist for many months after!. The tiredness, anxiety, edgy, irritableness, sleep problems and general sensitivity to all emotions will gradually reduce!. The rate depends on your general health, mind set, whats going on in your life, other medications/substances you may be taking!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Coming off any of the benzodiazepine drugs gives your symptoms!. You are lucky you only took valium for 4 weeks!. Before the dangers of addiction to these drugs was realised some people had been on them for years!. It was reported that the symptoms of withdrawal lasted 'a week for every year on the drug'!.
All the above are expected reactions to valium withdrawal, some people get anorexia, stomach cramps and diarrhoea as well!. Read the leaflet in the packet!. It's scary!.
I reckon you are over the worst!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just go to show you how dangerous valium can be!.The fact that you are already feeling better shows that in about a week you should feel half way normal!.You should be feeling alot better in about ten days tho!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its all in your head, it would take longer to get addicted and longer to stop getting withdrawalsWww@Answer-Health@Com
