My friend is on the phone with me right now and wants to kill herself on Friday!. She already cuts herself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ask her why and listen intently!. Let her know you care about her!. Don't belittle her or her problems by saying that other people have it worse or that suicide is "selfish"!. Just listen, offer support, and stay calm!. Tell her she means a lot to you, and be genuine!. You're going to get a lot of people on here who tell you to have her committed!. Quite honestly, the current mental health system is deplorable!. If you call the cops on her or tell some other authority, they're going to lock her up and treat her like a criminal!. She'll be disrespected and she'll have a mental health record of contemplating suicide that will plague her in future job hunts or trying to obtain insurance coverage!. This is ultimately her life and therefore her decision!. She's trusting you, and a breach of trust like that might be the very push she needs to go right off the edge!. She doesn't need to be in fear when getting things off her chest, and if you have her committed, I guarantee you she'll come out feeling like she can't trust anyone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Mental health care is not so terrible!. I have been suicidal many times and have always been treated at the hospital with respect!. They will take your friend seriously!. If they put her in the hospital it would be a blessing because they would take care of her!. It is much better than dying!. She can get better!. Call suicide hotline 1-800-784-2433 and see what they recommend!. Please keep talking to her as much as you can until she gets help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
