Question: Amitriptyline question!!?
Was prescribed these tablets instead of some sleeping tablets i had been taken and had found a little rubbish lol!.
These tablets are supposed to allow me to get back to my "normal" sleeping routine (never had one of those hehe) but my doc also said that they can be used as an anti-depressant!. I'm hoping these may help me (last night i slept alot easier etc) and hoping these may help with my depression (which is absolutely terrible right now and has been for years)!.
Are these tablets good for depression!? I've used alot of anti-depressants and none have ever worked and always made things alot worse for me, so i'm kind of hoping these may actually work for once!! lol
Any advice/experiences would be great!.
dosage wise: i'm on 10mg which i have to keep increasing after every 4 days (for some bizzare reason lol)

They are antidepressants, insomnia is a symptom of depression!. I got my first decent night's sleep after taking just 10mg!. Have been taking 50mg for years,initially stepping up the dose even quicker than you've been advised!. They're wonderful, in my experience!.

I used this medication years ago for the pain I had with shingles!. It is a medication that can be used for pain,depression and also for sleeping!. It is a safe medication and you should not have any side effects!. The way your doctor has you increasing the meds every 4 days is the best way to allow your body to adjust to this medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i took amitriptyline for over 10yrs!. it work extremely well for me!.!.!.both for sleep and my depression that comes with my bipolar II ultra rapid-cycling!. i took 150mg (if i remember correctly) and would sleep like a baby!. my depression wasn't as intense and i was able to function in everyday life!.

you should talk to your doctor, or go to at least a hospital and ask them in there!.!.!.
