Question: Bad for my mental health to have a child!?
Me and my boyfriend want a baby, I'm 23 and hes 25!. The thing is, when I was 13 I had an abortion, and hes scared it will upset me and that I am not ready for another kid!.!.!. what do you think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I fully understand his concerns!. I gave my first born up for open adoption when I was 16!. Then I met a wonderful man (whom I later married)!. He was scared and I was scared that when we wanted a baby I would relapse back into depression!.
Well we did plan and got pregnant ,and at first I was confused and I felt guilty!. As my pregnancy progressed I was generally torn!. But my husband stood by me and helped me through it!. Even though my pregnancy was planned it was hard emotionally!.
I don't regret for a second having my son, neither does my husband!. I think if you feel ready and he feels ready, then go for it!. But make sure he knows you are going to need some emotional support to get through it all!.

This happened to us when we were teenagers, but we had two children later!. Our advice is:
I wouldn't worry about having a baby!. Go for it! A baby doesn't cost very much, the problems start when the child is a teenager! I would get yourself a one of those electric food liquidizers for making the baby's food, as ready-made baby food is an expensive way of doing it!. Throw-away diapers or nappies are expensive too, so if you are prepared to boil up washable diapers in an old bucket, you don't have any reason not to have a baby!

No parent in the world wants their child taken away from them, and I think that is what you are worrying about!.
It is very important for you and your boyfriend to keep your finances straight, and not waste money and be forced to claim welfare payments as a single mother: if you are not very careful the child might end up with a foster mother!.
