Question: My dad has depression, please help me!?
my dad has recently turned to praying!.!.something he has rarely done in this life, even though i come from a religious muslim family!. when i asked him why he's praying all of a sudden, he replied by saying: i dont want to have to tell you this, but i'm going to be one of those people who dies soon!.
as soon as he said that, i burst out crying and continued to sob until i decided to get help!.!. what is wrong with my dad!? he's fine!.!.his physical condition is fine, he's not ill physically, only mentally it seems!. he's 50 now, and all he can talk about is death and it's really starting to scare me!.!.if something happened to my dad i think i'd die alongside him, my family is my everything!. is my dad having a mid-life crisis!? what's wrong with him!? how can i help him!? what could have triggered this!? please help me!.!.i desperately need helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

oh i feel you, i would die if my dad dies, spend more time with him, talk with him, show him how much u love him, hug him, make him feel that u need him, ask him for help with ur homework, mess with him, like u am sure used to when u were young, say hi to him when he comes, ask him about his day, sit and pray with him, tell him nice stuff, stuff makes him rethink of what ever is going on in his mind, tell ur mom, maybe she can help some how, or ask ur sibilings to spend more time with ur dad, tell him u love him alot and u need him, tell him not to leave u,,,,,
today in school we had an assembley about suicide and depression, this guy came and talked to us and sang, his dad comitted suiside when he was 14, he said that his dad was yelling at him because of his math grade, and the he yelled back and said "leave me alone, i hate u, i dont want to see u again" things like that, after 3 months the dad comitted a suicide, the kid went through majour depression thinking it his fault, so he wrote songs, and he sang them to us, one made me cry, and everyone was looking at me, anyway he goes to schools and talk about depression and ways to get out of it, from his experience,
so u try to find out what bothering ur dad, and talk to him about it, show him tht u realy love him, and hes realy important to u, i dont know what to say more, i hope everything goes ok,,,i realy do,,,,sorry if i wasnt much help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow, that's something way hurtful for a father to tell his child!
I think that your best bet would be to sit your dad down, and have a heart to heart with him!. Ask him what this is all about, and tell him how much it hurt you to hear him say that!.
