My school did something very stupid today and i need some feedback on it...?!

Question: My school did something very stupid today and i need some feedback on it!.!.!.!?
Today they went putting students through such emotional trauma, faking the deaths of close friends, only to find out third period that it was all a joke inorder to get the message accross to not drink and drive!.
They even going to the extent of covering the "dead" students in fake blood and posing them in a mock car crash is unbelievably morbid, while other students in make-up to act as ghosts of those who died was disturbing!.
For the School to pay $10,000 to call in a helicopter, two fire trucks, police cars, a coroner's van, and two wrecked vehicles, as well as to call the police in to go to every class to announce the so-called death of our classmates and friends, and even placing fake tombstones of those who "died" throughout the school, was far too extreme!.
The assembly was hardly taken seriously, whether people were complaining about the heat, or were upset and angry that they had to be put through such emotional stress for an "Adult Senior-Prank"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, it's kinda crappy that they did that, but I've only been out of school for about 10 years and I've seen sooooo many of the people I went to school with end up dead because of alcohol and drugs!. It's a harsh reallity check, especially when it's for real!. I mean, I do believe they were trying to mind fu** you all and it is pretty unfair!. But let's face it, it can and will happen eventually!. Sad world huh!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

They did this at my school!. I don't think its extreme, but my school told the kids that this was happening!. I think it sends a good message!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's really inappropriate and they should've found a different way to get the message across!. I do agree that they took it way too far and played with your emotions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Outrageous! Is anybody going to get the PTA into this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

What in the world, sounds like some kind of crazy dream!. Don't go tomorrow, or stay awake tonight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What you describe sounds more like a "trauma drill" orchestrated by the emergency response personnel (first responders) in your area which would not come out of school funds!. It may be that the school agreed to participate because graduation/prom time is here and they wanted to make an impression on students the importance of not drinking and driving!. If so they would have had the permission of the school board!. It sounds like they made an "impression" but without knowing why this drill was done, some of you may have drawn your own conclusions!. Check with the principal or have your parents contact the school board!. I'm sure it was traumatic but think of how devastating it could have been had it not been a drill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get your parents involved!.!.!.Call thre board of education!.!.!. get a student count on what they really thought of this little death test they gave you!. PTA should get involved!.
This could have or could be very damaging to young people in so many ways that they will want to go out and drink,I know I would!. Crap like that is BS in our school system!.
Im so very sorry that this had to happen to u and your school mates!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They did the same thing at my school, but they didn't go to the extent that your school did!. I'm guessing it's a rather large school!? Here's the thing, though: Drinking and driving is wrong!. That's the basic message they were trying to get across!. And they obviously had to get clearance before they went ahead with that, so I don't think the school corporation is going to be outraged!. So I don't think it would help much to complain to your school!. (I do agree it was wrong, however, the whole helicopter thing!. I mean, ten thousand bucks!?)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Perhaps to a student whose parents aren't involved with the school at the level of the school board, it is a traumatic experience, but before doing something like that (especially if the school really shelled out ten grand) the school has to have the permission of the school board!. When I was in high school, my mother worked all the time, so I took it upon myself to get involved in the school board process!. I found a friend whose dad was involved and either went with them to the meetings or asked my friend about it the next day!. Then, when they did that demonstration at my school, I was not surprised and I knew that nobody was really dead!. Of course, when three guys died two weeks later after drinking and driving, it was a real shock!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I honestly think that the message has sunk in!.!.!.DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE! It is ssoo hard to sink that message into people because EVERYONE automatically thinks "ohh it can't happen to me"!. I think some of it was a little over-the-top (if they truly paid $10,000 to have the ambulance, police, etc!. come in) and the funeral!.!.!.especially since you all know that it was a set-up!. But ultimately I think it was incredibly effective at sinking in the message of not drinking and driving!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
