Question: Whats the name of the disorder, the symptom is having unwanted thoughts only!?
Answers:
Lots of disorders can have symptoms of unwanted thoughts!. I am guessing though you are referring to obsessions which are intrusive thoughts and worries!. That would be a symptom of obsessive compulsive disorder!. You do not have to have compulsions as well to have it, just one or the other!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say it is either schizophenia or brief psychotic disorder!.!.!.

if the unwanted thoughts seem like they are a seperate entity (for example a voice convincing you to do things) then it is possible schitzophrenia!.

If you have just gone through a tramatic event (ex a death) then sometimes ur mind becomes so overwhelmed that you may be having unwanted thoughts and this would be brief psychotic disorderWww@Answer-Health@Com

I would agree that it sounds like one is referring to ocd (obsessive-compulsive disorder)!. It's usually treated with cognitive-behavioral therapy and/or ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressants including prozac, zoloft or paxil!.
