What more can I do?!

Question: What more can I do!?
I am a health care professional!. We are extremely short handed!.
I recently found out my son needs a heart transplant!. My younger son goes in for sinus surgery Tuesday!. On top of all this, my little dog died!.
I started working more shifts and drinking most nights!. My job performance went south and I was called on the carpet!. I confessed that I was having personal issues and that I needed to go and get help!.
They gave me 2 days off now they want me to go back to work! Any suggestions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You know the drill!. Rally the support network and get yourself some help for the stress/drinking!.

You'll be surprised how your friends will step up and help with things when they know you need the help!. Ask for very specific things!. Like help with laundry or driving the kids around!. People like concrete, when they know what they're doing really does help!.

You might also start looking for a new job!. It doesn't sound like your current employer is getting what "mental health" and "support" really mean!. Ironic, and disappointing!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It might seem impossible right now but breathe, just a simple in and out really inhale and exhale!. The drinking is probably a secret and maybe that's the real problem you are carrying all this by yourself you might tell people but are you allowing them to help, or do you really let them know how you feel!? Drinking isn't going to help anyone, though its hard drink water or your favorite juice as a kid instead it sounds silly but I have seen it work!. As for your job is it possible to take a sabbatical finance wise, because though a new job looks good the problems are still going to be there!. You are in the right place the health care profession use it to your advantage before the stressful drinking becomes an addiction!. Remember on top of it all, though it seems impossible breathe and let people who really want to help know how you feel!. Your not a case for pity but right now you need some time to breathe!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Agreed!. Look for a new job!.

Looks like most of your trouble has just come to a peak right now and if you can make it through the next week or so, you'll be fine!.

Ever seen the movie "Bringing Out the Dead!?" It is a rather demented comedy about a paramedic who is in a situation similar to yours at work, but bad to the point where he completely snaps!. After you see it, you might be able to say, "Well at least I don't have it that bad!"

Just a thought!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It seems you are going through a very difficult situation, and Im sorry to hear that!. It seems that when it rains it pours and it pours really hard!.

The death of a doggy is really sad, mine passed about two years ago so I can relate to this pain a little!. Time will help you learn to deal with this!.

Your little boy is ill too!? That must only make things harder, I don't have kids but the thought alone make my hair stand!.

It seems that maybe you adopted drinking as your coping mechanism, and that can't be a good idea!. Try to find something that will relax you but without using stuff that your body can become addicted to!. Being a health care professional, Im sure you know quite a bit about this!.

Why not try drawing closer to God, read the bible, maybe five chapters every night so that you can finish it in a whole year!.

Also, do remember that what doesn't break you makes you stronger!. Life has it's ups, but it also has it's down!. We need to learn how to accept both, not just the ups but the downs too!. When things don't go our way, we have two options, we can learn to see the glass half full or half empty, I like to see the glass full to the top, with water streaming off of the end, even if it hardly has any!. You get what I mean!.

Lastly, don't give up, this is a new learning experience that you will go through, take life one day at a time, take a deep breath, and be tahnkful that you aren't burried under tons of ruble, hoping someone will find you as many other parents are in China and other parts of the world!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah I have a suggestion!! These places by law in any company expecially one that you work at being a health care facility should know and you should as well that they are required by law to allow you to take up too 3-6 months off for personal reasons with addiction drinking, drugs, maternity anything, so you go to the person who runs the place you work for and tell them you are very unhappy with your boss or who ever it is that told you to come back in 2 days and that they are by law required to allow you to take time off for personal reasons and you are still to have your job back afterwards, it has to be for addiction or something so if you have been drinking or whatever and you have family issues anyway that require surgery so you are all set and tell them you know your rights and that you don't want to take this any further outside of work but you will if need be, they will see things much clearer then believe me, do not let them control you like that, you have a right to be able to stay home and fix your problems and go to AA that is a good start and it will show your work and there attorney, if it gets that far that you are doing what you need to be doing about your drinking and this is why you need to take time off to fix this immediately!.!. do no let them tell you, you can't you can, check it out online!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
