Well insanity is usually refaired to an extreme case of creazy!.
But u are trying to you is in the context of something abnormal like if a person says to another person " are you insane!?" because they want to go ahead and do something that most people won't do!.
But usually if u say to a person are u crazy!? they get more offended its like calling them a nut case!.
