First, work with a pyschiatrist, preferably one who specializes in mood disorders!. The pdoc should have you do a full blood panel to make sure your thyroid is okay and other possible medical problems aren't the cause!. Then, work with the pdoc on the med to try!. From what you described, I'd guess that Lamictal is an obvious choice!. Antidepressants not working, working and then stopping, or making one too wired are classic responses of someone in the bipolar spectrum!. As such, a mood stabilizer makes sense!. What makes as much or more sense is to work with the type of doctor who specializes in mood disorders, not your GP/PCP!.

I take Lamictal w/o an AD because ADs make me mixed or manic even on mood stabilizers!. In fact, Lamictal is too activating for me to take w/o other mood stabilizers!. Most likely, you are not that "bipolar!." Some ppl get an antidepressant effect w/the first 25mg!. Other's don't until they are over 100mg which is 6 weeks or more after starting!. The slow ramp up is to avoid potential rejection of the med by your body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You mentioned that you have tried several antidepressant pills and none work!. Am I right to say that you bought these pills off the shelf and not prescribed by GP or psychiatrist

Taking different type of such pills will only worsen your condition!.

The pills prescribed by GPs are generally the milder type!. The stronger ones which are called "prescribed pills" can only be given by psychiatrist!.

I have been taking 'strong' antidepressant pills nightly for several years even till now which are prescribed by a psychiatrist and I stick to the time to take and dosages!.

I suggest that your consult a GP and tell him/her on what pills you are taking!. Don't hide from them what pills you are taking as this will only make it difficult for them to diagnose and prescribe the appropriate medication/s for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should not trust pills!.!. they cause more harm than good!.!. anti depressants!?!?!? sure they work for a while!.!. but then dont work!.!. and they even state that "you can get racing thoughts of suicide" so i dont trust any anti depressant!.!.!. have u tried medical marijuana!?!?!? i used to take 6 different types of pills for my bipolar ll!.!. (extreme high extreme low) and i read that if i took my pills for a very long time i would mess up my liver, stomach!. so i decided to try marijuana!.!. and i only have to take one pill now!.!.!.

i think people have to understand that marijuana has been used to treat illnessess!.!. since the dawn of time!.!. marijuana is safer than most if not all legal drugs!.!. it has killed zero people you cannot OD on it!.!. (unlike all other legal drugs) it does not kill brain cells it does not give u lung cancer!.!. you should do ur research on ur anti depressants and medical marijuana!.!. and dont search it on yahoo!. give google a try!.!. it seems yahoo works more with mainstrea doctors who do not like medical marijuana!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
