its really incredibly hard!. but you have to resist the anxiety!. you need to find what deep down inside caused the anxiety, because if not it is going to take over, mine came from feeling overwhelmed with my family and friends being so negative and being scared to die and having weak faith, so I have been trying to work on those things, and when I feel anxious I tell myself to just live and relax there is nothing I can do about this its in GOD's hands, let me enjoy life and live, also thinking about my son and husband bring me out of the anxiety because I want to see them and be with them, and not scare them!. I also pray alot!. I don't know if you are spiritual but GOD definitely helps Oh, and try to keep negativity out of your mind and negative people away even if they are family or friends for years, this has been one of the hardest things for me because I miss them but I am at peace and that's what matters!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well anxiety is a serious disease and can be the initial sign of a more serious problem especially if it is worse!. First try to eliminate any triggers!.!.!. second of all carry a paper (or plastic) bag with you!.!. when anxiety increases breath in it slow and deep 5-10 times!.!. When people become anxious they breath too fast and become ankylotic, the paper bag helps you retain some of the carbon dioxide!.

Stay away from alcohol it will increase anxiety long term!.!.!. drinking alcohol is stupid and a terrible idea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hiii
I have the same problem, and like you I refuse to take medication for it!. I actually did psychotherapy for it, and my therapist did EMDR on me!. Which is kind of like hypnosis and it is working incredibly!. Are you in therapy!? If not I would suggest that you do, and if you already are talk to your therapist about EMDR its worked wonders for me!.
If therapy is out of the question, try yoga, deep breathing exorcises, or presser points exorcises they don't get rid of long term anxiety but help when your in a stressfull situation!. Good luck :]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you ever discovered what is the root of your anxiety!?

It would be difficult to suggest a therapy without that knowledge!. You can lessen symptoms through meditation, relaxation and exercise but the problem will still remain!.

I have been diagnosed with Social anxiety for a few years now, I was on medication for a year or so and went off because I just don't like taking medication, and quite frankly I didn't like to think that my "normalcy" was bottled in pill form!.

For me, I still struggle now and then but for the most part, I try to use reason and common sense to get myself out of my anxiety!. For me my anxiety is about control and fear and being a possible person, by that I mean,!.!.!.!. If I let my kids go to their friends house without watching them, they might get kidnapped!. Now I reason!.!.!. My daughter is 11, her friend lives 5 doors down on the same side of the street, its a bit extreme to think that she will get kidnapped (I still watch from the upstairs window)!.

So I still have to go through the possiblities because that is who I am, I like to be prepared and I believe a certain amount of fear keeps me and mine safe, HOWEVER I try to make sure that I also think about the probability of a situation coming to fruition!.

In accepting myself and realizing what triggers my anxiety I can talk myself into a different way of thinking!.

Maybe if you write down why you have anxiety, or what gives you anxiety, maybe you will find a pattern or a commonality, then you can focus on what will help you get past it!.

Good luck, I am sure that you can do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hate to ruin your day, but there isn't anything that will truly help except medication!. At least in my experience, nothing fixes it, but there are some things that help a bit!.
-Relaxation is always good: take a bubble bath, walk through the woods, listen to music, whatever you do!.
-Creative Outlets: music, art, prose!. Whatever you're good at, its always good to get your feelings out!.
-Talk: therapist is of course the best choice, but a friend will do!. I know for at least myself, talking doesn't help me at all, but if it works for you that's great!.
-Nap Time: Don't laugh, naps can do wonders!. The stresses of the day will fade away, plus you're alone where hopefully you won't get triggered!.
Best wishes, take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I've been suffering from panic attacks for 8 years!. I'm on medication myself and I see a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist!. I haven't actually found a way to stop a panic attack, but you must keep in mind that a panic attack can rise only so far, before lowering and stopping!. Having one is horrible and feels like the end of the world!. I've been able to continue with day to day life and cope with the anxiety, I suggest you talk to a doctor, they will give you advice, and you medication is not an option for you, but it might be the only way!. I'm on Diazepam and it keeps my anxiety levels low and if I have a panic attack, I can deal with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Everything may seems to spark anxiety in your life now, because the cause of it is solely you, and you carry that strong mind body connection around with you whereever you go!. There's no way you can get rid of things that cause it, nor can safe zones actually exist where you can be free from the worrisome thoughts!. The way to regain control over your own mind, is to know exactly what anxiety attacks are and especially what they aren't!

To give you an idea: Anxiety attacks don't just happen to you, they're decisions you make each time you think in terms of what if ( fearing what could happen in the future)!. Everytime it happens, you are the cause of it!. It's just like right as someone feels like something's behind them and gets chills down their spine, or before someone gets in a fender bender they get a huge adrenaline rush, sweaty palms and their body goes into a slight state of shock, because their mind sent the "worry" signal that there's danger ahead and their body naturally starts setting off all kinds of natural senes as a way to say- wake the heck up, there's danger ahead! You're body works to protect you, and responds to what you tell it to do, even sometimes before you realize what you're telling it!. An anxiety attack is just an exxagerated form of sending the wrong signal from your mind to your body! Of course the intial tingling or head rush right before an attack may sometimes catch us off guard because we do have a chemical imbalance that causes strange feelings sometimes!. However, these are not a warning that you are about to have an attack!! it's just an uncomfortable tingling/zapping feeling that unfortunately frightens so many people into a sudden state of worry( what if) or panic and then there body's going to naturally respond by putting them into that shock kind of state as if they were just about to get hit by a bus!.

Once you learn to overcome them, and don't fear that intial tingling sensation (your body no longer recieves the "danger ahead" signal, and you actually FEEL it pass right over you, rather than allowing yourself to FEEL it grip your body and get stronger and stronger!. You're talent of a very strong mind body connection can be used for good too!.

Everyone's cause of (what if) thinking and symptoms are a little different and it's hard to help you overcome it without knowing your worries and overall experience (essentially how you're causing it to happen), but I hope you see a counselor or email me about your situation and I'd be happy to help you overcome these!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
