Answers:
BPD is a very overhyped, even "trendy" diagnosis in certain subgroups and peer cultures, particularly among adolescents!. It isn't just cutting, and it isn't "emo"!. Because of the complexity of the diagnosis, people with true BPD don't generally have lasting relationships with each other!.

Signs: People with BPD tend to be their own worst enemies!. They see things as either good or bad, right or wrong, with no in between!. They want closeness, yet drive others away by shifting rapidly from loving to hating and back!. This leaves the person feeling chronic emptiness and lonliness!. Unstable is a word that can describe someone with BPD!. Unstable in relationships, education, career, moods, etc!.!.!.They are very impulsive and prone to overreacting!. They may self-mutilate to express feelings they have trouble expressing otherwise!.

Borderline Personality Disorder is not actually diagnosed until a person reaches adulthood!. That is the case for all the personality disorders!. It's only then that the "signs" are considered to be well established enough to diagnose!. Before adulthood, traits can be recognized, but a true diagnosis cannnot be given (makes me wonder whose diagnosing all these teens, themselves, most likely)!. BPD is a lifelong character disorder that cannot be cured!. Although it can be treated, it's not treated with medication, but with therapy!. Because of the tendancy to love/hate, people with this disorder are more likely than people with other mental disorders to impulsively "fire" their therapists when they hear something they don't like!. This makes treating this disorder extremely challenging!.

There are many websites that list the symptoms!. I've listed some below that I know are well established and credible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mood swings,
dependence on others for happiness,
self harming
great fear of being abandoned/being alone
Push/pull---they pull people closer, but then get fearful and push them away
little lack of sense of self!.!.!.they change what they like and don't like all the time
Can be very aggressive if they fear they are being left or swapped for someone else!.
Tend to be possessive
little control over impulses and are usually impulsive in 2 oe more areas!.
Often very controlling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
