Is having a Eating Disorder classified as mentally ill!?

The definitions of "mentally ill" can become blurred when dealing with an eating disorder!. Some doctors would consider it a qualifying illness whilst others wouldn't!. The only way to find out for sure would be to apply and see what happens!. Bear in mind that the rules for receiving IB are being tightened up and the emphasis is being placed more on what you can do rather than what you can't do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you can provide a medical certificate proving you are unable to work, then yes!.

If not, you may be able to apply for income support with a letter from your doctor!.

Yes, having an eating disorder is classified as mental illness!. But to go on Incapacity Benefit you would have to be able to show that your mental illness means you are unfit for work for a protracted length of time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it impairs your abillity to work then yes!. If your ill regarless of what its called then you are just as entitled to it as every else who is ill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
