Will I EVER sleep?!


Question: Will I EVER sleep!?
So I found out on Monday that I'm pregnant!. I was taking prescription anti-depressants, as well as prescription pills to help me sleep!. Well, I stopped taking them cold turkey, as advised by the doctor!. This is night number 3 that I can't sleep!. I got about 2 hours of sleep last night, and about 3 hours on Monday night!. I'm so tired I don't know what to do!. When I do fall asleep it's only for like 20 minutes then I'm up again!. I don't see my OB until June 2nd!. What can I do to get some sleep!? I toss and turn constantly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chamomile tea is a herbal all natural sleep aid and wont hurt the baby also get some melatonin take about 2-3 of them at
an hour or two before laying down in the bed and you will just fall asleep your brain is not producing enough of its own melatonin thats why your not sleeping !. it could be some thing on your mind weighing so heavy causing you sleepless nights!. also could be withdraw symptom from not taking your usual medication , sleeplessness may be just a side effect if you quit cold turkey , one other thing you can try that wont hurt the baby is to drink 2 beers to relax u !. of course depending on how far along you are in the pregnancy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm pretty sure your sleeplessness has everything to do with stopping your medication!. I don't know what your doctor told you, but when I was on antidepressants my psychiatrist said that it's best to ween yourself off of them gradually because they can produce strange and uncomfortable side effects if you just do it cold turkey, as you did!. When I went off them, I felt jittery and restless, so I'm sure that's the reason you can't sleep!. You might want to get a second opinon about this from another doctor in regards to your medication!. In the meantime, try relaxation techniques, meditation, or a bath right before bed!. You could also try exercising a bit more during the day to tire yourself out!. Basic sleep hygeine!.!.!. extra exercise in the morning, no caffeine, no sugar after noon (or at all if you can), avoid preservatives, dark and quiet bedroom, only sleep and sex in the bedroom!. Also practice relaxation exercises!. A good one is after you get in bed, start at your toes and concentrate on slowly relaxing all your muscled up to and including your face and head!. It works better than it sounds!. There are some decaf teas that some say work, but stay away from the health food products until you OB gives the okay since some may not be good for your baby!. Oh yeah, a nice hot bath before bed is good, too!. Give yourself an unwind period to destress and where brain activity is not necessary!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, its going to take some time!. Going cold turkey off prescription medication is going to take a toll on your body, but its necessary if you're pregnant!. One thing you could try is to go to bed an hour earlier!. That way, you have more time to try and get to sleep!. Also, try a herbal tea to relax you!. Warm milk, despite popular belief, is not good before bed because you're body has to work to digest it!. A hot bath before bed may help too!. Or listening to soothing music, like yoga music or wave sounds!.!.!.ect!. Setting a strict sleep schedule should help too!. Go to bed at the same time each night and wake up at the same time!. In the meantime, try taking a nice relaxing bubble bath and making yourself a cup of cocoa!. Then listen to your favorite CD of relaxing music (or your local classical music station) while you try to fall asleep!.

jasmine scented bath wash
drink chamomile tea before bed
have your home cool because people rest better in cooler temps
kick caffiene and alcohol if you do either
don't drink juice or have alot of carbs close to bedtime

Target has a cd of the sound of a rain storm!. it works great for me!.theres also the sound of the ocean on cd-very soothing!.!.!.!.!. you will sleep eventually!. its a biological law, your brain will shut down eventually!. the problem is it will probably happen when you need to be awake!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
