Why is anxiety sometimes determined as manic?!

Sometimes when people have extreme anxiety they can't sit still: pace, fidget, etc!. Or maybe they obsess about whatever is bothering them--won't be quiet about it, etc!. Or just have a higher than normal activity level: you know, that feeling of "I just have to do *something* or I'm going to lose it!." Anxiety can also cause insomnia, which can be a manifestation of insomnia!. I'm sure there's a lot more I can't think of offhand!. With a lot of psychological/psychiatric problems, there's going to be a lot of overlap in symptomology!. That's why sometimes it's so hard to get a proper diagnosis and why it's essential that you go to a good therapist/psychiatrist that you trust and tell them everything, no matter how small, that's going on, so they can make an informed diagnosis!. There is a lot of overlap in behaviors, emotions, and thoughts!.

Without a more complete description of how you define anxiety or "manic" (a manic episode) or where the "determination" is coming from, I'm not sure what the question or concern is!.

It would be unlikely for a professional (psychiatrist, medical doctor, psychologist) is misdiagnose a panic attack as a manic episode!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i would say yes, extreme anxiety!. People with manic depression usually stay up for days and also tend to repeat themselves!. not all anxiety is determined as manic, but extreme anxiety i would say yes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are similarities in behavior!. They are not the same!. As with most psychiatric disorders, there has to be a symptomatic history taken in order to differentiate between disorders which share symptoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
