Symptoms of Bipolar in children?!


Question: Symptoms of Bipolar in children!?
I have been reading alot about Bipolar disorder b/c I think I may have it!. I was diagnosed as clinically depressed but I think it stems far more beyond that!. So I looked up symptoms of Bipolar in children!. Some of the most common symptoms are the same symptoms as ADHD and I read that alot of times doctors will misdiagnos a child with ADHD when they really are Bipolar!. For Example: They say signs of children with bipolar disorder can start as young as 3-4 years old!.

1!. Hypersexuality coureosity
2!. Lie alot
3!. Crave alot of carbs
4!. Pee the bed more than normal
5!. Have tempertantrums regularly
6!. Increased activity and gestures
7!. Poor temper control
8!. Delusions


I had all of those symptoms growing up and was told I had ADHD!.!.!.!. Does anyone have any experience or advice for me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I recommend the book "The Bipolar Child" although from your post it seems you may have found it or the website http://bipolarchild!.com !. I totally agree that you definitely need to get to a competent psychiatrist who will do a complete evaluation which entail a detailed questionnaire, not just a 2 or 3 page one!. Anti -depressants alone in someone who is bipolar will send you into a manic state, sooner or later!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm bipolar and they thought i had ADHD when I was little!. Now I have major mood swings so they prescribed lithium!. Lots of disorders are similar to Bipolar and it can be dangerous if it's misdiagnosed!. They thought I had major depression and put me on lexapro, and then I had a manic episode (not my first though)!.!.!. but if you think you're bipolar you must see a psychiatrist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
