Do you have to keep a brain damage individual just because he?!

Question: Do you have to keep a brain damage individual just because he!?
is a family member if you CAN'T DO THAT!?!?!?( You have kids and have to work)!.!.!. Can't you just put him/her in a caring home where they can be with others that are like them!? I think that is fine to do!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Humans are not possessions!. When you say "keep" it is not like you can return them or something! If you were the person with the disablity, what would you want for your family to do with you!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am wondering how severe is the brain damage!?
Will the person know the difference if he/she is home with you or living some place else!?
Maybe a day program would help occupy the person's time!.
You could talk to a social worker at the hospital where this person is being treated!. You could inquire about facilities for people like your relative!. Hopefully you will be able to learn all the options available to you so you can make the most appropriate decision for you and your relative!. Best Wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you think so, why seek confirmation through others!?
Still, I think so too, but it's really up to what you can live with!.
Can you live in peace keeping him/her, while going to work and raising a family, and possibly failing at all three because it's just too much!? Or is it more peaceful for you to accept that you can't; that you are not superhuman even though you'd like to be and that others might pressure you to be; that you have your limitations, and your plate is already full, so the best for everyone involved is a special care home!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the best place for anyone to be, especially with a brain injury or brain damage, is at home!. If there is no other care that can be given other than love and needs, there is no one better to provide that except family!.

My partners father was hit by a train!. In the country there were no crossing thingy's to say ok train is really close, don't cross, and all he could see was the headlight!. He thought it was far enough off but his pickup didn't make it across the tracks!. He was in the hospital for months and it was touch and go but he survived!. Only he was a vegetable!. He could move his head and he could look at you with his eyes!.!. and I am sure he understood everything you said but he couldn't move nor could he respond!. They took care of him at home for over 8 years, changing his feeding tube and diapers until my partner left home for college and he passed away!. He lived for many years and got to watch his children grow and I feel he lived a lot longer at home than he would have had he been in a care facility!.

If you are asking this question, maybe you dont' care enough about the person to care for them properly anyway!. I don't mean any disrespect but the way you word your question, you sound as though you have already made your decision and you are just trying to get others to tell you its ok to send family off to a place they don't know!. My partner was homeschooled along with her brother and her mother worked at nights !.!. they managed to care for him!. A day nurse would come in at certain times to help when their hands were full!. Things were always possible!. And no, they were not rich, they were actually on the verge of poor, especially after some of his medical needs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you have serious emotional issues with this, and no one can ease your obvious feelings of guilt except you!. Of course someone with brain injury can be cared for in an institution, and likely get better care than at home!. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can!. But what would you want for you!? I would want to be with my family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
