What should i say?!

Question: What should i say!?
Basically I
Answers:
Well, every GP is a little different but I would imagine that they would just start by listening!. He or she will, as they should, ask you if you have ever tried to kill yourself, whether you have had those thoughts and whether you are having them now!. Unless you are thinking about killing yourself, and have a plan, while you are in his/her office, no one is going to make you go to the hospital so don't worry about that!. I imagine that the GP will refer you to a psychiatrist or psychologist to talk about things, including why you self harm as opposed to doing other things to manage stress!.

Writing things down is a good idea but I think that you should actually read it to the GP!. That way, your note will just be a guide for the most important things that you want to make sure you say!.

This is such a good thing that you doing-asking for help-and you should be very proud of yourself because this is a very important step towards getting better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course you need to very open and honest with your doctor about what you have been experiencing and it always helps to come with notes!. Explain to your doctor upfront that you are terrified and are having a difficult time of putting this all into words!. Of course he will ask you questions after you've laid out your concerns!. Good luck and don't be afraid to tell your doctor anything, that is what he is there for!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you may be afraid because of all of your thoghts but here is the most important one, Do you want to die or become sick because you havent went into the doctors for a regular chech-up!? i mean they help you and notify you if anything is wrongWww@Answer-Health@Com

it is a very common complaint and your g!.p!. will have come across this many times so do not worry just make the first move and tell themWww@Answer-Health@Com

hey hun, you are not alone!. i took this scarey step last year and things have been much better now!. try and write as much as you can, i always find that this helps as i get so scared when i am there i forget what i want to say!. good luck hun!.
a support site i have found that has helped is NSHN!.CO!.UK!. it has been my lifeline over the past two years and has given me the strengh to face my problems!. your gp will probablyy ask you a few question such as the method you use, how often and general hygieine of the cuts, burns etc!. well this is what my gp ask me!. they firstly put me on AD'S as depression was diagnosed at the same time, as i am in the uk and been referred for counselling through my doctor!.
good luck hun!. you will be fine!. remember that this is the biggest step and once it is done it feels like a weight has been lifted of your shoulders, someone else knows and you can get the support that you need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been in your position before!. When I went to my GP, I sat down a bit shaky, They asked me what was up and I closed my eyes tightly and just said it straight out!.
Yes they'll ask you a few question but take deep breaths and relax when you anwser !.
And dont worry about their reaction Self-harming is more common than you think in the UK so I guarantee you'll not be the first self-harmer s/he's dealt with!.
When I told my GP, she got me a counciller and I'm currently getting better!.So they'll help you but you have to make the first step!.
Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

ah, been there done that, got the hat! Seriously, I'm glad that you are being brave and telling someone!. The first step to solving a problem is the realization you have one!. So, give yourself a pat on the back!.
Now, on to the GP!. I would write down what triggers you wanting to do this, how it makes you feel, how you would like to be treated (counselor, possible mood stabilizers, maybe a benzo based Rx, group therapy, or in house treatment)!.
When I told my doc several years ago, they wanted to examine what I had been doing and what was triggering the behavior!. Telling them how you want to be treated ensures this will be a healing experience, because only you know what makes you comfy!.
I would say 3 written pages would suffice!.
Don't be afraid!. Chin up!. You can do this!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dr will pat you on your back for being so brave to come to see him and get help!. You are very courageous!.

There are lots of kids, esp girls, with the same problem!. I don't know how things work in the UK, but my dr would send me to a psychiatrist, who would prescribe some medication and get me a therapist so I can talk about my problems!.

You don't need to write it all down, just make a list of symptoms!.

Extreme anxiety
Depression
Can't come out of bedroom
Won't let anyone in

etc!.

Best wishes, brave one!.
