Can childbirth cause a permanent chemical balance in the mothers brain?!

Question: Can childbirth cause a permanent chemical balance in the mothers brain!?
My mother was diagnosed with bi-polar over twenty years ago and has been treated for it since!.
My sister shows signs of having the same illness, which runs on my mothers side, yet she states my mother suffered a chemical imbalance during child birth due to maternity negligence!. I have never heard of such a thing, and am quite sure it is another tactic of my sisters to take the "eye" off of her own behavior, but I just want to be sure about this!.
Can just having a baby normally, no complications whatsoever, cause a permanent chemical imbalance or can the chemical imbalance that happens during preganacy stay that way and not revert back to the "normal" levels!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Bipolar is inherited as you probably already know!. It can manifest at any age with some as late as 70 (although there's some question about that late)!. The trigger is thought to be a stressful event!. Pregnancy is stressful!. The math is not hard!. ;) Often women who end up being diagnosed during/after pregnancy had some symptoms before but they weren't severe enough for them to seek out help!.

The only chemical imbalances caused by pregnancy that I'm aware of are postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis, neither of which are permanent, and emergence of bipolar!. I'm not an expert on this, however!.

This is the National Institute of Health's site of medical research!. If you query on 'bipolar pregnancy' I know there's a study or two that has results showing a higher rate of diagnosis at pregnancy!. There may be some other interesting stuff!. Unless you are a neuroscientist, skip the research where you can't understand the words in the description!. The site is abstracts only, btw!.
