Answers:
It depends strong upon which type of anti-depressant you have been prescribed!. There are three main groups which work in different ways!.

I have taken Lofepramine (a Tricylic) and Mirtazapine!.

Mirtazapine, the drug I now take, works by increasing the release of Noradreneline and Seratonin, which means that there is more of these in the synapse (part of nerve cells in the brain)!. These are thought to increase chemical 'happiness'! However!.!.!.!.!. I feel they do nothing for me!

I have not met many people who have benefitted significantly from anti-depressants!. They are certainly not the ideal treatment for depression (you cannot sufficiently treat a psychological phenomena with a physiological solution)!.

You may start to feel numb and tired!. Anti-depressants can effect your sexual function!. You may feel more hungry & consequently put on weight!. You may also even feel suicidal or like harming yourself!

It would be helpful to know which medication you have been prescribed to answer properly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'd think I'd know this considering I take them!.
I dunno really, It makes you abit brighter and little bit more confident!. You dont really notice it but others do!.
But the side effects can be terrible,
Nausea, dizziness, headaches but that usually happens during the first few weeks although it depends on what anti-depressant your on and how big the dosage is!. As some hve different side effects than othersWww@Answer-Health@Com

Are you taking them because it's the thing!? Why are you taking them!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
