Question: I don't think I'm 100% anorexic so I don't know how to get help!?
I'm obsessed with my weight!. I'm currently 115, 5'5", 16 years old, waist is 23 inches!.

My weight isn't low enough to make my BMI low enough to be considered anorexic because I go to the gym a lot and do tons of crunches and stuff every day so it's probably muscle!. Someone told me you have to have a BMI of under 17 to be anorexic so I'm not!.

I constantly watch what I eat!.!. but every couple weeks or so, I sort of lose it for an hour and eat a ton of junk food, then spend the next week feeling extremely guilty and making up for it!. I don't think anorexics do that because they have awesome self control and I am still trying to master mine!.

It's like a constant headache because I'm arguing with myself all the time with whether I have a problem or not!. I'm like, so, I had 480 calories, that's too much to be anorexic, and then my friends are like, 480 calories! what the hell is wrong with you!? and i just don't know any more!.

You definitly have a problem and should not wait until it gets worse!. If you get help now you can get better without having to deal with all the health effects of being anorexic!. If it gets worse you will start to experience these symptoms:
Stunted growth
Endocrine disorder, leading to cessation of periods in girls (amenorrhoea)
Decreased libido; impotence in males
Starvation symptoms, such as reduced metabolism, slow heart rate (bradycardia), hypotension, hypothermia and anemia
Abnormalities of mineral and electrolyte levels in the body
Thinning of the hair
Growth of lanugo hair over the body
Constantly feeling cold
Zinc deficiency
Reduction in white blood cell count
Reduced immune system function
Pallid complexion and sunken eyes
Creaking joints and bones
Collection of fluid in ankles during the day and around eyes during the night
Tooth decay
Constipation
Dry skin
Dry or chapped lips
Poor circulation, resulting in common attacks of 'pins and needles' and purple extremities
In cases of extreme weight loss, there can be nerve deterioration, leading to difficulty in moving the feet
Headaches

Dont worry about what people think!. they dont care what you look like they are they are more concerned about theirselfs and that's why they put you down to make themselfs feel better and boost their confidence!. Just like parasites there feeding off you dont let themWww@Answer-Health@Com

maybe you need to talk to your parents about it and tell them all of this just incase it did become something serious and you could fix it now before its too late!. 480 calories is nothing, thats not good for you , you need a well-balanced daily meal pattern!. Also teenagers should be aware of the need for adequate iron and calcium intake!. your best bet would be talk to your familyWww@Answer-Health@Com

i think u do have anorexia, ive tried skipping meals ect, but im a food hog, i cant get anorexia,, wheras u have self control

It's like pregnancy!. You are or you are not!. (no percentage possible) Get some help for your thoughts!. And watch the DVD!. "What the bleep, do we know!?!?" Especially about the effect of thoughts on water!.

Anorexia isn't a specific BMI level!. It's a mental sense of self and whether that's healthy or not!. In addition to body image, it's about self-esteem!. It's like wanting to hurt yourself (going hungry is painful!.!.!.kind of like cutting yourself, but on the inside, ya know!?)

Wow! Be easier on your self and set a goal for yourself of a certain weight and just eat well and excercise but do not obsess about it because you are in a state of mind that if is affecting your life negatively!. Do not compare to someother girl in the way she looks lie!. Just be yourself!. Its in being content that seems to bring the results you want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
