Cannot get off painkillers?!

Question: Cannot get off painkillers!?
I've been on painkillers for 3 years straight!. I've been through alot of trauma with parents and college and I cannot take benzodiazapines or any other type of anxiety meds for my panic disorder!. I'm already on mood stabilizers and have had a DBT therapist for 3 weeks now!. I'm afraid to tell her about my addiction and she will tell my doctor to stop giving me pain meds!. I don't want to take these things anymore because i don't want to be high on these things for the rest of my life!. I'm thinking of taking subutox so i don't have cravings for these things anymore!. Has anyone ever taken subutox!? How did you tell your therapist about painkillers!. Please don't judge me, my mental health isn't all that great!. I try reeaaly hard, I've never had trouble with the law and I do not drink and have never done street drugs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest you take it slow and easy, your certainly not alone, untold millions are addicted to pharmaceutical analgesics, including narcotic pain relievers!. Many millions of us have mental health issues, probably between 10 -20 %, including depression!. Often these and other issues go hand and hand !. " MICA" is an acronym which stands for -mentally ill and chemically dependent - this also is a far more prevalent issue in our society than previously thought!. Stigma, fear and other issues keep people in the dark, not being open and honest about the issues we face!. Honesty and self-evaluation are essential in growth and healing!. I have found help from many sources in my life and we need many sources of help & strength, we need to build good healthy relationships, asset building is a good thing and it's good to ask for help and guidance especially from a professional in private but it may be wise to limit going into the details of one's personal life in such a public forum!. I will therefore limit self-disclosure and not directly answer some of your !?'s ,while my reading is Subutex, this is only prescribed by a specially trained Physician and these are limited in number!.!.!.!.!.it is an extremely powerful substance and usually prescribed for opiate & heroin addiction, often in patient detox maintenance & recovery!.!.!.it would become another addiction !.!. While online look up educational , advocacy and self help groups such as the Mental health Association, NAMI, the National Alliance for the Mentally ill and other groups such as 12 step recovery AA, NA, AL-ANON etc!. These support groups can become a great source of help, guidance and strength!. I wish you wellnessWww@Answer-Health@Com

see a family doctor and tell him as this would be the best to see a doctor and she/he would have the best advice and see a social worker as they can help you through these things!.

And ASK for Help is the best idea reconising you have a problem is the first step!

best of luck
