two things:
fuel-oil=jobs, increase in vechile purchases,which there for increases the need for raw materials(copper steel ect)also we need fuel to cook our food, heat our homes ect!.also expect everything YES EVERYTHING to increase somewhat soon due to fuel prices and the cost of transporting the goods to stores!.
the auto industry-another factor with cars not selling there is a very low demand for raw materials which means less jobs which means more people eating cheaply which means less food selling which means prices increasing!. so these are the two major factors!. if the price of oil goes down then everything else will soon follow and the only way for oil to go down is for people to stop buying it which wont happenWww@Answer-Health@Com

if your talking about in america in general, its because of the war in iraq, if your talking about the world well in africa there poor so of course everythings exspensive to them, south america well not exspensive but a lot of poor there too, asia well overpopulation and all that, europe moneys like twice our WORTHLESS dollar, etc!. lots of causes!.!.!. and in america are dollar is pretty worthless the canadian dollar is almost worth more
