Is schizophrenia curable?!

Question: Is schizophrenia curable!?
Answers:
They tell me NO! I no longer have symptoms but am still on anti-psychotic medication!. No one knows the causes of the various types of schizophrenia so with out that knowledge it is pretty hard to treat and impossible to know if a cure has been achieved!. The idea it was a split personality went out with the demise of the dark ages of psychiatry (late 1800's to early 1900's) and the notion, which had no scientific merit, that increased dopamine levels caused it has been largely abandoned!. If a person can function normally for an extended period is not that a cure!?

Look up "schizophrenia" in a Yahoo! web search for much more info!. Good luck with your research, good mental health, peace and Love!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It can be depending on how its treated!. Different people have different views about the causes of schizophrenia!. If you look at it from a medical point of view, drugs can be given to regulate the levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain, which low levels of cause schizophrenia!. However this only works for as long as you take the drugs and therefore is only a treatment not a cure!. However brain surgery e!.g!. a frontal lobotomy which is carried out in extreme cases has been found to cure schizophrenia but also cause changes in personality!.

If we look at it from a psycho dynamic point of view some believe that schizophrenia is caused by repressed childhood conflicts and schizophrenia can be cured by bringing these conflicts out of the subconscious and into the conscious mind and advising the individual on how to deal with them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

a significant percentage of sufferers get better spontaneously!. So maybe in some cases!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
