Question: Depression- How do you deal with it/ make it better!?
Yeah so this year is my first year of highschool, prob the most depressing year of my life by far!. Any hoot, I was wondering if anyone on here had severe depression and how tou deal with it!? I have all the symthoms of clinical depression, and i seriously think i have some kind of anxiety disorder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OK I am a grandmother and you most likely will not like what I have to say!. But know that we all go throe this!. My daughter did the same, I found that I had to get outside, I had to walk outside and every time I would start to feeling depressed I would go out side and do something!.
I did the same to my daughters, when they were feeling down I would make them go out side!. They didn't like it at first but they came slowly to see how it helped them!.
I would make them help with the flowers or mow the grass, or clean the porch, but something to make them stay out side!.
Even today with myself I will walk out side or work out side to not get depressed!. When you feel the wind, hear the birds, pat your pet, see the seed coming up, feel the sun, its hard to stay mad or feel depressedWww@Answer-Health@Com

highschool will do that to ya, especially if you think a lot, I had friends who were always happy and upbeat (I realized it was because they didn't think very much, LOL, they just went with the flow), but I did have some depression in HS!. Your "raging teenage hormones" don't help either, they can make you more emotional and more prone to "feeling strongly" about things that won't really matter given some time!. You could see a doctor to make sure you don't have anything wrong or if they can help you!.!.!.praying helps, writing in journals really helped me big time, talking with my cousins about issues I was dealing with at school, joining cross country and track really helped a lot (I wasn't the best but I was pretty decent)!. I had dogs and 1 cat that helped to ease my mind when they were around me!. I read alot of books and did sleep too but that's normal for a teenager to sleep I mean!. It's difficult to be a teenager, it really is, so many things going through your mind, the trick is to just let it flow over you and find things to help you deal with the "growing pains"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my depression is being treated by medication!. Many times depression isn't just a state of mind, it's a chemical imbalance!. The medication i'm on is an SSRI and I've had success with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Exercise can be used to help cope with depression!. Martial Arts can boost self-confidence and increase physical fitness!. This is just a suggestion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seems about the same as me!. I tried therapy for about 6 months and taking a nap every day when I got home from school for at least 4 hours!. Seems like you do have more depression than anxiety!. I tried a strain of cannabis and that really boosted me, I wanted to go out and do things and stop sitting around, but I'm also not saying break the law!. Whatever you do don't start taking antidepressants!. They threw me on paxil, said I'd have to take it for a year, and when I start coming off of it I'm going to go into a depression type anger!. Noting I stopped using cannabis around 2 weeks prior to this medication and it didn't seem to help at all, then again I was only on for 5 days and it takes around 4 weeks to work, cannabis worked first time I used it!. Since I live in PA I can't have it prescribed medically so I've stopped everything pretty much and I'm back to sleeping most of the day and not going outside!. So if this pretty much what your experiencing try different things, one person on here said exercise work, and it does, but not for everyone!. You have to find what works for you!. Don't go off and break the law though!. Find what works for you though before going and breaking the law and a chance of jail time unless you live in a state they prescribe it medically!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
