Did Bi-polar Meds Help You Become a Better You? PLEASE HELP!?!

Question: Did Bi-polar Meds Help You Become a Better You!? PLEASE HELP!!?
I've already been through a lot of therapy and still am to deal w/ the emotional issues of the past!. I have bi-polar, anxiety, severe, ADHD, and a processing disability!. Yeah it runs in the family, my mom is bi-polar and my whole life I grew up w/ her yelling at me and my brother (I'm the oldest) telling me it was my fault she was sick and so on!.

It took me YEARS to get over the pain, and it effected my entire life! I couldn't make friends because I was so insecure (I still have problems today at 19, but I'm getting better)!.

My diagnosis of anxiety and panic disorder, was just recently changed to bi-polar about 2 months ago!.!.!. and I'm finally about to start treatment, w/ syraquel!. I have problems and some I feel may be my bi-polar, but I've never been any other way so I have no idea how they'll change!. I want to be a better gf, stronger person, and KNOW I can be a mom some day!. Did meds change those areas for you!? I do such STUPID emotional things sometimes!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seroquel is not usually used in bipolar cases, it's usually prescribed as an antipsychotic, sedative, and antidepressant!. I've been on it for a while, and it does do a lot of good!. I'm bipolar with a few other things, and the pills do help!. You may want to also talk to your psychiatrist about Depakote!. It's a mood stabilizer and has helped a lot for me!.
And I know it's kind of odd coming from a stranger, but I've been through what you're going through, and I'm here to talk if you ever need someone to understand :]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Um some of them haved worked!. And i am the same way you were!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have a friend who was in her 40's when finally diagnosed, she had been treated for depression for years!. Though I am sure you are devasted by this diagnosis you are lucky to have it addressed at such a young age!. My friend had her 2 children (1 abortion - her husband's child) while out of her mind!. Her children are now grown and have very little to do with her, or her with them, it is so sad!.
I beg you to follow whatever program of med your Dr!. puts you on, see a psychiatrist regularly and be honest!. If you want a good life these things must be done!.
I've spent too many days in the psych ward after multiple suicide attempts, the last one where they kept her in a coma for a week to detox her from the drugs she took!. Please do not let this happen to you!.
My friend is off her meds again, her husband is a weiny and won't commit her because she is abusive when off her med and he is a weakling!. I see a funeral in my future!.
People do live with bi-polar and have good lives, just do what you have to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been down the entire depression/bi-polar road with my husband!.

You'd have to find out or research the meds yourself as I've not hear about the one you're going on, but he's had great sucess with Depakote!. It has never masked his emotions, which is something he told the Dr!. he didn't want, he still wanted to feel things and deal with things, not be walking around like a zombie!. I've noticed that the Depakote is what's made him!.!.!.!.well him again!.

He's come to realize he can't go off his meds and that he needs them!. He's also come to accept things and like himself again!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow ! I am sorry that you had to go through all of this!. Having people diagnosed wiht Bipolar in the family can make your chances higher!.Seroquel is not usually used to help treat Bipolar!.Depedning on the severity of your Bipolar you have might make a difference in what medication your psychiatrist could feel would suit your needs!. Here are some Bipolar Medications that may help you:
Lithium,Depakote,Tegretol,Lamitcal,Neu!.!.!.
Medications for Anxiety:
Valium(One disadvantage of Valium is you often become "addicted or dependant on it) so some drs say it is ok to take others say no),Ativan,,Prozac,BUspar,
Some Bipolar medication can help you to become a better person!.For some it can help them control their emotions, and their anger!.
Tip:Never let someone take blame for what you did!.Take it to a "fair" test if there are three people in the room and one person says it is your fault let one person be a judge and take court while the others telll their side of what happened!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
