It sound like you have been through a very hard time!. You say you have over come depression but are you sure!. Depression can take along time to get over some people never fully get over depression!. Have you thought about getting some counciling it might help!. Regarding your over weight problem you could start with trying to eat more healthfully and doing light exersise like walking and jogging or perhaps do some other excersies at home!. Then when you feel ready perhaps go and just have a look at the gym!. Most gyms do a trial session so you can try it and see if it is for you!. No one will laugh or stare at you if you go to the gym!. There will be lots of people there who will want to help you!. and most people will admire you for trying to do some thing to help change your life!. Take it one day at a time!. And you will succed!. One other thing have you concidered confidence building lesson it could really help you!. I used to be like you and had no confidence but I did confidence building lesson and have never looked back!. I hope this all helps!. If you want to talk more you can contact me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

go on a walk- a camp- climb a small mountain!. if you exercise with goals you'll get much furtherWww@Answer-Health@Com

Firstly, of course you would be the same bubbly person if you lost weight! You'd probably be more so as you would have more confidence!. Obviously, they are trying to make you feel better but they aren't helping much by the looks of it!.

I think you should try going to the gym, your local council probably has one that you can "pay as you go" so if it is awful when you get there you wont have wasted so much money!. From experience, there are all sorts of shapes and sizes in the gym and everyone looks awful when they're working out!

If you can't face going to the gym, try to do some exercise on your own, get a fitness DVD or go for long walks, it will take time but you'll feel better for exercising as well as losing weight!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think that going to the gym with your friend will do you the world of good!. I was terrified the first time I went to my gym (a Fitness First) but immediately discovered that everyone was so wrapped up in their own self-conscious body issues that they just dont have the time to think about yours!. There were all kinds of people there ranging from serious body builders to elderly women!. Mostly they were people like me: over-weight and wanting to get healthier!.

Dont look at the gym as a weight loss programme!.!.!. look at it as an opportunity to spend some time with your mate and get a bit healther!. Exercise does wonders for your serotonin levels and will give you a feeling of euphoria!. Give it a go - you may really, really enjoy it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dear Scobbied, I hear you, you are not alone, there is a huge percentage of people that feel the way that you do!. There are no quick or easy solutions!. Often we over eat because we are stressed and don't exercise because we are all under time pressure!. Probably the best option for you is a personal trainer!. A good trainer is worth the money and should analyse what you eat and your level of activity then come up with a personal program for you and supervise you!. I think it would be worth spending the money and the time doing this after all you will feel great!. Organisations like weight watchers do work, but commitment is needed on your part!. If you do not choose these options, you need to make time for excercise (I hate gyms and have found in the past with discipline and encouragement you can do just as well at home as you would in a gym)!. Even brisk walking is beneficial, but remember don't over do it, these things take time and it is best to have a physical check at your doctors before starting exercise!. Most importantly though is to change the way you eat and there is lots of advice on this available (eg timesonline, the news paper web site)!. If you don't find advice that suits you try cutting down on volume, lowering fat and eating less bread daily!. Substituting bread for water biscuits/crackers or meat & salads or pasta at lunch time has helped me loose as much as a kilogram a week!. It is important not to starve yourself, but spread your eating during the day and have small amounts each time!. Oh yes cut down on sweets/biscuits/cakes if you do have these very often!. Wish you the best!. You can do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

firstly you cant just exercise and loose weight you also have to have a balanced diet!. To do this just eat everything in moderation with plenty of vegetables!. then buy a step up box or look in your garage for something to stand on!. Place it infront of yout TV and do step ups for 30 mins everyday!. this will help you lose weight and you can enjoy watching your favourite programme!. once you feel you have lost enough weight then join a swimming club!. This will boost your overall body fitness and you can socialise with people which would help build your confidence!.once you are up to it join a gym club from what you have told me you sound like an amazing person with a great personality and doing this will help you shed those last few pounds!.!.!.!.!. good look Laura x

ps!. Celery is a great vegetable to boost your metabolic rate!.!.!. this is because it burns more calories chewing it than you get from it!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I kind of have the same problem!. I'm overweight, and suffer from anxiety and depression and all I do is eat!. I would love to lose weight, but I can't leave the house as I'm Agorophobic!. But I just brought a treadmill, a friend of my mums said she did half an hour a day and the weight dropped off, so I'm going to try that!.

Have you seen Natalie Cassidy's workout DVD!? That looks promising, maybe giving that a try would be a good idea, as you don't feel comfortable going to the gym!. Also, you have to have a good diet, which I know is hard, as I have an obsession with crisps and can't stop eating them!.

Anyway, if you want to lose weight, you already seem to have the motivation and you should go for it, no matter what your family says, they should be supportive, so hope all goes well with you, and take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

EATING PLANS: The idea is to become a grazer, eating mostly low calorie/kilojoule foods, and having several mealtimes, well spaced apart, so you never get hungry!.

Go to: h t t p : / / c h o o s e d i e t !. b l o g s p o t !. c o m (you should type it in the usual manner) and select one, possibly changing, later!. Eat 6 - 8 small meals, daily, with a little protein in each, preceded 20 minutes earlier with a large glass of water: this speeds up weight loss!. Snack on any amount of celery sticks, with the occasional carrot stick, and/or slices of cucumber, tomato, bell pepper/capsicum, or raw onion, in any vinegar (a little salt & pepper/chilli powder is OK, but no oil, or sugar! Rinse your mouth with water, later, if using vinegar!.

Your body needs a small amount of [ preferably olive, grapeseed, or premium coconut* ] oil, daily, to be healthy: about 2 teaspoonsful, if not getting it in the rest of your food intake already)!. Understand and accept that many people use food in an attempt to fill an emotional void, which is unhealthy, and never works!. Others eat out of boredom, so have plenty of things to keep you occupied!.
