Getting rid of your therapist!!?!

Question: Getting rid of your therapist!!!?
A friend of mine has spent the past couple of weeks trying to get rid of her therapist and then finally she text her to say she just was stopping!. Apparently she was even charged for sessions when she gave notice of being away! Anyway the therapist text and called!. Almost like an ex! Still assuming she was coming back to a regular session!.

Anyway we were talking about it today and apparently its common, chiro's, therapists! Does anyone else think this isn't ethical!. Pushing people to pay for services they no longer want or need!. Esp with therapy when people are delicate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
have your friend contact the state board of examiners for mental health providers!. It sounds as though the therapist has some "issues" (many do)!.

She needs to cease and desist!.

I've known a therapist who has milked several clients for 2 weekly session for 10 years!. If I do the math the lady made in excess of a million dollars on just these 10 clients!. (and she has more then that who've only seen for a year or so!.)!.

A GOOD therapist is short term solution oriented!. the minute a therapist wants to "Explore" run!.

Therapy in most cases should be to help you through rough spots, and you finding solutions to work out problems in your own way!. Bad therapists become like vampire bats sucking every once of emotional blood (and money) from you!.

When looking for a therapist perform an interview!. If they say they short term solutions then I'd be inclined for most normal people to head that way!. A therapist worth their due will tell you after a short period to live free and prosper!.!. You should know when you've had enough and not rely on a therapist to tell you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

She should contact her insurance co!. and the state attorney general's office to see how to fight this!. The therapist needs to be reported!. Your friend should not pay for visits when adequate notice was given of cancellation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should always tell your thereapist that if your not happy to recommend you to another one!. its there job to help you find helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

your friend has a right to decide if she chooses to have therapy with this therapist or not and she decided to stop seeing her,she shouldn't have to still continue to pay for sessions she is not longer going to!.You might want to contact her boss,or the agency she is working for and explain the situation, they might be able to help you in this matter,if not i would talk to a lawyer on what you can do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If she is paying for sessions at the start of the month and quits during the month, it is reasonable to pay thru the end of the month!. It's a tacit monthly arrangement!. Same thing if it's on a day by day basis but the cancellation is the day before!. That's too short notice!. Consider it from the other side!. The person is making a living and cannot plug holes in their schedule reserved at your request on a moments notice!. The thing is, all of this should be spelled out up front!. If it is not, then there is a real problem!. Btw, your friend should have been able to tell her therapist to her face that she wanted to stop therapy!. That she couldn't suggests that perhaps she wasn't ready!. That probably is the mixed signal her therapist is reading!. Dunno!. I'm just guessing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
