Is there an advocate group for the mentally ill?!

I have the misfortune of knowing a gentleman, (An "artist", who thinks he wants to go work for Disney, of all places-) who thinks it's funny to parody the mentally ill in most of his works!. He claims this is 100% okay, and not tasteless at all, and claims that "He never sees the hospitals getting all upset over it,"!. While I know that in the art world you're bound to offend someone, and that I really should just mind my own business, is there some kind of group or website I could point him torwards that IS for defending the mentally ill- to see that the suffering of families who are struggling with special needs children wouldn't find this funny or tasteful at all!? Just for the sake or argument!.
