SSRI's are considered the "go to" Meds for OCD, however an old classic with very good results is Anafranil (Clomipramine is the generic name)!. This drug is a Tryciclic!. Also, FYI, you need to give all of these Meds plenty of time to work!. For example if 20mg!. of Prozac helps with your depression after 3 or 4 weeks, it could take 80mg!. or more to help with OCD!. And when these meds are used for OCD, frequently with higher dosages, and moving up slowly, it can take up to 12 weeks or so for the meds to reach their full potential!.
