Feeling really really really low and depressed.?!

Question: Feeling really really really low and depressed!.!?
I have been feeling this way since I was pregnant with my daughter!.
I was put on medication after she was born and I have sinced stopped taking the meds!. I hate how they make me feel, I can't even cry when I am on them, Like I have no emotions at all!.
I was taking celexa at a pretty low dose 20 milgrams or whatever the mesaurment is!. 1 pill basically!.
But lately I have been feeling worse and worse, I am not suicidal or anything but I am basically a single parent, my boyfriend is in the military and has been gone for 3 months now, he hardly calls and when he does we only talk for a minute or two!. He never asks how I am doing it is like I dont exist!. I feel unappreciated and that no matter what I do nothing is ever good enough!.
I don't know what to do anymore I have told him how I feel and its like talking to a wall!.
I feel like no one understands what im going through and I am up here on a military base away from my family and my friends!. Just me and my 5 month old daughter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know that it is tough with your boyfriend being gone!. It's probably tough on him being away from you too and maybe that's why it's hard for him to talk!.

One thing to keep in mind about antidepressant medications is that it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to see that you have the right medication for you!. Sometimes it's hard to have the patience to wait to adjust to the side effects if you have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the depression to get better!. The good news is that there are lots of medicines your doctor can try!. If Celexa made you feel bad, I would suggest that you go back to the doctor to see if another medicine will work better for you!.

Are you able to see a counselor for individual sessions!? Is there a support group that you can attend!? If you don;t feel comfortable with a counselor or group, maybe start by meeting with the chaplain!. When you have depression, it really helps to have someone to talk to!.

Also, is there a play group or meetings for parents that you can attend!? You can meet other new parents and it will be fun for you and the baby!.

Main thing-Don't try to tough this out on your own!. There are people who understand and are willing to help!.

Hope this helps !Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't give up!. Just because you didn't like the way you felt on Celexa (you're right - 20 mg of celexa is an extremely low dose) doesn't mean that there isn't another antidepressant that won't work for you!. See your doctor/psychiatrist!. You may be having postpartum depression, which can be treated!. Not all people have the same reactions to all medications!. Go back to your doctor and tell him what you are telling us on Y/A!. You are not alone!. You can get better if you get the help you need!. Take care of yourself and your little girl - you sound like a great mom who only wants the best for her child and herself!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to seek out a counselor to talk to!. That person can make the appropriate referrals for a psychiatrist!. In fact, these days many of these mental health professionals work within the same office and you probably get 2 appointments on the same day!.
What is happening to you is sad, however, it is a condition that needs addressed!. The basis of these behaviors (genetic or learned) is a hotly debated topic!. However, chances are that your daughter will learn to mimic your behaviors before too long!. You need to be healthy for you and for her!. Even if that means medications that you dont like!. You are no longer a singularity!. You are a mother with someone who depends on you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
