Answers:
There are some medically-approved uses of hypnotism (meaning that there are good studies to back them up)!. These are for pain control; use in certain anxiety disorders, primarily through the use of relaxation techniques; use in pregnancy through the control of nausea and during childbirth; and use in controlling habits, like smoking or in OCD!. They may work secondarily in depression and weight control by helping the patient to reduce the kind of thoughts that hold them back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went to one with my in laws <very straight laced> It was a comedy act and he hypnotized volunteers on stage but he said not all of them would go under so he told the audience to try to, then he picked some out of the audience!. My in laws were some he picked, they were not playing along but were really under!. He asked questions from us who were at that table and he told them they would not have any pain or be embarrassed after the show!. My father in law who has had back pain since being hurt in Vietnam was suddenly not in pain and started doing things he hadn't done in years <golf>!. Personally I think they work, but not for everyone because some people cannot be hypnotized!. Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went to a hypnotist who was also an M!.D!. to help me kick the habit of procrastination!. I paid a small fortune for it and it did not work for me!. All it makes you do is expend more effort and time into ridding a bad habit!. Who needs that! The point of getting hypnotized was to exert less effort, but you end up needing to find time in the day to go into a self hypnotic trance-like state and use auto self-suggestions!.

Unlike what you see on t!.v!., in real life getting hypnotized can't make you do what you don't want to do or divulge secrets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hypnotism only works if you want it to work!. I know that sounds like the sort of mumbo jumbo they normally put out, but it's the truth- you can't be hypnotised if you don't want to be, and you can't lose weight/give up smoking/whatever if you really don't want to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I haven't myself, but a friend of my mums had two sessions to help with her panic attacks and it helped her!.

I'm considering having sessions myself to help with my anxiety!. I know it's expensive for a session, but giving it a go can't hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Believe it or not, hypnotism really does work!.

It all depends on how you perceive it!.

If you believe in Hypnotism, you will be more susceptible to it!.
It depends on how strong you are mentally :3Www@Answer-Health@Com
