What is the best way to treat severe depression?!
Question: What is the best way to treat severe depression!?

SSRIs don't work!. Anyone who's helped by them had very mild depression, because it only lifts your mood almost unnoticeable, and in my case of severe depression, not at all!. Paxil and Zoloft are SSRIs and I think they're all a crock of ****!.
Anti-psychotics (I know, the term is scary) DO work for depression in low doses!. If it weren't for my anxiety, I'd take Geodone because it really really helped my mood!. But my body just couldn't handle it!. It couldn't handle Abilify either!. But I've known people (I was in a mental ward for saying I was suicidal, this is how I know) that were helped greatly by those meds!.!.!.!. It's just that the docs seemed to get milligram-happy and when it gets too high, made them pure zombies!.
Only thing that extinguished my depression like taking oxygen from a flame - Adderall!. I also have ADHD, so that helped it immensly also!. But it's almost impossible to get for just depression unless you're doc has known you a good while, you've got no known history of substance abuse, and nothing, including the anti-psychotics work!.
Edit: Yes, and though the below is majoring in something related, does not mean that she knows!. Schools teach what they teach, even after some of the things they teach are disproven, it takes a while for them to change the curriculum!.

there are 3 different families of medications to treat depression: SSRIs, MAOIs, and TCAs!. within each category there are dozens of medications, and for each medication there is many different dosages a person can take!. there is no best drug for the entire population, because each person is different!. i recommend that you visit a psychiatrist to help you to find the right drug and the right dose for you!. remember- the most effective way to treat depression is NOT drugs alone! talk therapy (aka therapy) and drug therapy combined is most effective!.

actually if those two haven't worked for you, you will just have to try other meds!. I find lexapro to help a lot for me!. it's different for everyone!. and SSRIs may not be for you!. you will just have to experiment!.
the one thing I have found to be truly effective in depression is therapy!. Interpersonal Therapy, along with medication, is the best form of therapy to undergo for depressed patients!. I also recommend cognitive behavioral therapy too, as it has worked wonders for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hiya wel it depends iv ur depression is caused by sumfin n ur past !.!.!.!.!. ciz iv it is wel den talkin z de most effective way altho its also de hardest 4 sum pepl!.!.!.!. shud find sum1 u trust 2 n tat shud help bu iv its bad wel den u need 2 go n c a councellor!.!.de meds dunt reli get rid o depression de jus block de thoughts so its not reali a way ta get rid of it!.!. gd luk xWww@Answer-Health@Com
