We have dated for 11 mos, he knows im bi-polar, and I have become obsessive!.!.!.and possesive, and paranoid, and everything else you can do to ruin a wonderful relationship, he has asked me to slow down the dating process, to find out who I am, I need to focus on myself!.!.!.and not on "us" as much, so do I tell him that I am going back to the doctor, and looking forward to going back on my meds!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on your relationship!. The only thing I can really offer is that as a person with bipolar, I could not be in a relationship with a person who did not support me 100% in doing all that was necessary for my health!. This would hold if I had any other illness as well!. A productive, healthy functional life as an unmedicated person with bipolar disorder simply isn't a realistic expectation!. It is a progressive illness left untreated!. Sooner or later it catches up to you!. I'm old enough to know that now!. If your bf doesn't understand that, then educate him!. In this, however, you really must do what's necessary for you or you ultimately will not have a healthy relationship, if one at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Only tell him if its the truth, and you want him to know!. I personally would wait until the meds started to kick in more so that he could see that you have started the path to find yourself and focus on your health and well being!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
