Unstable Moodswings?!

Question: Unstable Moodswings!?
I have really unstable moodswings and have for as long as I can remember!. One moment im quite content with myself and about as happy as I can be, but suddenly I get really angry, a pure blind rage over, pretty much nothing!. And when im bored i get really self destructive!.
Then I can get really sad and upset and depressed, my moods swing up and down and its starting to really worry me, and I hate not having a reason to explain whats wrong with myself!.
My father has a history of depression/anger issues, but these were developed due to high levels of stress in his careers - so i dont think thats relevent!.
I 'd just like to know what to do, now ive realised there may be a problem, Im reluctant to go to my gp because my mother is a receptionist and she knwos when I have appointments and looks in my file to update case notes, she works full time and the surgery is shut at weekends!.!.!.so I dont really want her knowing, theres more for her to worry about except me!!

Please, please help!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

other people will tell you to see a psychiatrist - I say only do that after you've done everything else and that nothing else has worked!.
1) see an endocrinologist if you see a doctor - a variety and tell them you are fatigued or something and see if something is out of whack!. Several endocrine related deficiencies can cause all kinds of mood instability
2) take a multivitamin, as all kinds of vitamin deficiencies can cause mood instability!.
3) Try eating lemons daily as lemons contain traces of lithium!.!.
4) shortage of omega 3 oils - i!.e!. fish, flaxseed, walnuts have been proven to cause mood disorders, so try a handful of walnuts or eat some fish and see if that helps stabilize your moods!.
5) get sunlight daily - if you are up on sunny days and down severely on cloudy days then maybe your vitamin d level is low, and maybe you need some sunlight!.
6) get sleep - and try to stay away from the TV and computer at night!. try to unwind and then go to bed!. Sleep is so critical to mood stability!.
7) forgive the people who have hurt you!. If you are harboring anger toward anyone this can cause all kinds of issues!.
8) try not to eat anything that comes out of a package, eat fruits, vegetables, grains, meats, dairly - i!.e!. things that God made!.!.
9) many people with mood disorders have trouble digesting gluten in wheat, etc!. try taking yourself off - but only try one of these changes at a time!. to see which one worked!.
10) it really helps to get up and go to bed at the same time daily!.
11) EXERCISE - if you aren't exercising then your moods will go all over the place!. Our bodies were made to be used!. Not just sit all day!.
12) no sugar in between meals!.
13) limit caffeine, alcohol, etc!.
14) see a counselor and try to work out any emotional issues!.

and then if all this doesn't work - then go to a psychiatrist and get medicated!. I think most people on this forum tell everyone to go to a psychiatrist, but I don't think that should be the first thing a person should do!.

I'm not a doctor and I'm not treating patients!.
Disclaimer - for medical help see a doctor!. I really think you should see an endocrinologist - don't tell them about moods, but if you have any fatigue or anything that's a good reason to see an endocrinologist!.

Aw, youre so sweet to not want to worry your mother but hon you have to find out whats wrong with you!. Do you think its possible you might have bipolar illnesses!. sounds like your bipolar go to a doctor get a drug and u wont have any more problemsWww@Answer-Health@Com

if your dad has stress issues, he may have worried you about it too, unintentionally of course!. and i think you should see someone and tell them; it's nice of you not to want to worry your mother, but your mood swings may already be worrying her and the best thing for all of you is to get it sorted out!. your parents are grown ups, they can take care of themselves and you at the same time!. don't keep putting it off, though; it gets worse and worse the longer you leave it!. so schedule an appointment with your doctor, or ask your mom to, soon!. chances are, he or she will refer you to a totally different doctor, a psychotherapist and a therapist--they're not all as crazy as the movies make them look, and actually bipolar disorder, depression, and all that have a lot to do with chemical levels in your brain, not just situational issues!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
