Computer use and my health?!

Question: Computer use and my health!?
Can spending far too much time on a computer cause depression & illness!? Can it also weaken social-skills & cause withdrawls from reality & people!?

It's just that lately I've noticed that I have a computer addiction & spend a lot more hours on my PC than I mean to & more than I ever used to!. It's been so long since I last went swimming or attended a Karate class, both of which make me feel extremely happy & content!. However, it feels like the more time I spend on my PC, the more depressed I feel!.

Can too much computer use cause depression & illness!?

Is it okay to stay on a computer for more than an hour if I take a 15 - 30 minute break each time!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I'd go ahead and leave that computer alone for as long as possible and get out and about!. Start back with your karate classes and swimming lessons on a regular basis!. You'll get out of the depression you're feeling now and will have a more centered outlook on life!. Any exercise, particularly karate helps to clear one's mind!. Take it from a guy who has studied it for a while!. Use your computer only when needed, and even then, don't stay online for more than 10 min!. at the most!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it is all about balance!. Everything has good and bad!.

Spending time on the computer can make it more difficult for you to interact with people in person!. Everyone knows that much!. Also it can distract you from your work!.

But lets look at the plus side!. For me, the using the computer has improved my writing skills a great deal over that last three years or so!. I also think interacting on the computer has helped many people who were shy to become more social!.

There are some strange effects that I have observed that are not negative or positive!. For example, some people go around speaking computer shorthand!. They say things like LOL, and TTFN!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Listen to yourself!. Truly, listen to your self - if you have to ask this question then obviously you've become aware of a problem!.

And you've also suggested a solution - socialize more!.

Try to structure your life so you can get balance in the following six areas:

Physical
Mental
Spiritual
Social
Emotional
Financial

Ask yourself what your Full Potential would look like in each area and schedule time to engage in a simple activity that will grow that area!. Do this and find yourself feeling more fulfilled!.
