What Should You Say to Someone Considering Suicide?!

Question: What Should You Say to Someone Considering Suicide!?
A friend of mine is going through some very hard financial times!. He's been out of work for five months now, sent out probably 1,000 resumes and not gotten a job!.

He is five months behind in his rent!. Whereas the landlord has already filed suit to have him evicted, his lease runs out at the end of this month!. So he will definitely have to leave then!.

He has decided that the best thing for him to do is to end his life!. He has struggled with bills for years and I think he has just gotten tired and frustrated and has just given up!. He says that he's survived these last five months praying every day that if he goes on just one more day then a blessing of a job or a financial windfall will come and he will have a reason to keep going!.

But now, things are so bad I just can't reason with him and he believes that ending his life is the only solution and option he has left!.

I've never seen him like this before!. How can I help!? What can I say to him other than "don't do it"!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If he believes in Heaven, then he believes in God and the Bible!. Remind him that those who commit suicide do not go to heaven!.
Even though we face hard times, very hard times, God always comes through!. It just may not be in your friend's time, it will be in God's time!.!.!.!.!. Love your friend through this and offer your ear and comfort!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

what ever you can do just try to stay with that person!. i just had a friend kill themself a few days ago!.
that situation is bad and it might take awhile to get back on track, like 2-3 years completely out of debt!.
sorry i can't help much, but good luck, and watch him closely, heaven won't let people in if they kill themselvesWww@Answer-Health@Com

You'll need to help him find a reason to live!.

As simple as that sounds, someone in severe depression may have a hard time thinking clearly!.

Your friend needs a strong network of friends!. Even if its only 2 or 3 people, if you take turns getting him out of his apartment, brainstorming where he'll live and places he might be able to work, that encouragement might be the boost that he needs!.

I've had difficulties my entire life!. Literally slammed with one big thing after the next with very little rest from such stresses!.

Each person has something different that helps them most, but there are some basic things that you can help him with:

Be there!. Make sure he can call you whenever he needs to talk!. Make sure you call him often to check in on him!. Find others to help encourage him!. If he is open to joining a Bible study or going to church that can be a great place to find people who are accepting and able to help!.

Check in your community and see if there are any resources for people in his financial situation!. Help him get the financial help he needs so he can get back on his feet!. Often a nudge in the right direction can help someone get back on track!.

See if there is a place that he can go to for counseling where money is not a concern!. Ideally if the place helped with both mental and financial counseling that would be a bonus!.

Encourage him to eat and sleep properly!. Getting the right amount of sleep and eating correctly will help him out!. Exercising can also help lift his spirits!.

Your friend needs a plan to see that life CAN work and that he has things worth living for!.

Hang in there and keep being a good friend to him!. It can be rough to help him through, but just give it your best shot!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best thing you can say to this friend is !.!.!."There is too much here for you to handle on your own, which hospital can I take you to for help!?"

This guy does not sound like a guy shirking his obligations, he truly cannot find a job and would rather work than be in the mess he is in!. This can all be turned around with time and therapy!. What is his field of interest and have you seen his resume!? Maybe the resume needs an update or some major changes made!. Would he consider working in a less paying job, less stressful job for a while till something better comes along!?

Do not ignore his cries for help!.!.get him to a hospital!. Life is precious and he wouldn't be here if there wasn't a purpose!. And a thank you, to you, for being a true friend to this guy!. Blessings and best of everything to you both!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

he needs to sign himself into a pyschiatry ward for some professional help, they will be able to put him in touch with social service agencies who will then assist him in getting retraining so he will be qualified for a job, they can also help in getting his finances in order, he may have to declare bankruptcy!.!.!.what you need to let him know is that his life is definately worth living because he has at least one person that cares a lot about him!.!.!.!.and that is YOU!.!.!.drive him yourself to the hospital if you must!.!.!.that will be the best thing you can do for him!.!.!.good luck!.!.!.my heart goes out to this person!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
