Question: What are some methods to keep my mind from racing!? (Anxiety)!?
It seems like I'm always fighting with guilt!.
I just need methods to get my mind off this stuff!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The thoughts don't just go away, you need to deal with each issue as it happens!.

I have similar issues!.I listen to a lot of talk radio any time I might start thinking negative thoughts, like when I'm in the shower!. Music also works!.

When I can't do that, I like to play mental games, like making up haikus (poems that have 5 syllables in the first line, then 7 then 5)!. There's also a game that goes "A, my name is Alice and my husband's name is Andrew and we come from Alabama where we sell Apples, B my name is Bernice!.!.!.!." and so forth, through the alphabet!. Another mental game is thinking of a song and spelling the letters to the tune of the song, instead of using words!. So, while singing the notes from "twinkle twinkle," say "t w i n k l e!.!.!." etc!. It's really challanging and keeps the thoughts under control!.

write it down!. seriously it'll slow you down cos you can't write that fast and it also helps to get it out there rather than letting it run round in your head!. seeing it on paper may also help you get a grip on it, or a better perspective!. you don't need to keep it, throw the paper away after or write it on your pc and post it on myspace! whatever you feel you need to get it out of your head!.

i did this when i was postnatally depressed and it kinda removed it from me for a bit and gave me some space!.

focus on longer term goals and a sense of purpose in life, it worked for me!. Think very positive and if there are any negative things that you find your mind gets wrapped around, avoid them!.
most importantly keep telling yourself that there is a way out and that your not stuck like this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

this is advice from someone who has dealt with this for 14 years!. the best is to cry your eyes out!. you need some crying music!. then with the music you step up one more level to where you are putting yourself in the mood to get mad!. you go threw to the next and final level with the music!. you put on some that lifts your spirits up!. the kind that you just got to say " i am somebody too!" and dance yourself to happiness again!. the docs call this the three steps to getting rid of anxiety!. there is another way if music is not your thing!. get candles on!. get yourself a hot bath set up to relax!. you turn the phones all off!. lay in that water and close your eyes so you can feel all those muscles that are so jumpy start relaxing away!. this works for me!. good luck!. there are people out there that know what it is like!. stay safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
