Im so afraid of seizures I can't live?!
Question: Im so afraid of seizures I can't live!?
I go blind before my occipital lobe seizures, I can not explain how awful it is to go blind before them and the voices and things I hear that aren't there make me think I died or am dying!. Then I go under!.
I keep trying to convince myself that it's gonna be over soon and I'll wake up ok but really now the aura is so bad that Im afraid of having another!. So Im afraid to walk outside or drive!. Im afraid to be up so I sleep all day, really, it's that bad!.
Im on zoloft and docs wont give me any sedatives because I tried to commit suicide on them 3 years ago!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you tried working with a therapist!?
That type of aura is awful, but it's something you need to learn to accept as just an aura!. Letting it cripple your life is a big price!. Seems that all alternatives to coping are worth pursuing!. I know, easier said than done, and easier said by someone who doesn't experience them!. Still, there is truth to it!. Do all you can to get yourself back to enjoying life while you are seizure free!.!.!.!. and work w/your neuro, of course!. Speaking of which, depression is common in epileptics!. You might want to see an actual psychiatrist, maybe one who coordinates with your neurologist!. Perhaps something else will help more than Zoloft!.

First, if you have seizures, you should not be driving, ever!.
There are alert dogs that are trained to sense an impending seizure and alert the patient so they can get themselves in a safe place and position!. Horrible as it is, think of the aura as a warning to get yourself lying down to avoid injury!. Keep up to date on new medications (talk to your doctor) and hope for new and better treatments in the near future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
