Prozac and the pill?!
Question: Prozac and the pill!?
Im currently on 20mg Prozac a day and am considering going on the pill!. Does anyone know if there would be any reaction or side effects to this!? I read on the internet somewhere that they are not compatible but then also hear about friends second hand who are taking them both!. What about with the mini-pill!?

I have never heard of an interaction between prozac and bcp's, but I would ask a pharmacist and my doctors to be sure!. Also, you can look here http://www!.drugs!.com/drug_interactions!.h!.!.!. (although don't go on this information alone)!.
There are medications that don't mix well with BCP's, but the ones I am aware of are mood stabilizers!. I'm currently on Lamictal and had to switch to the mini-pill because the estrogen effects the Lamictal level in the body and it isn't clear if the lamictal alters the effectiveness of bcp's (but I'm not taking that chance!) I should mention that my psychiatrist, the people at planned parenthood, and the pharmacist all had NO IDEA of this interaction!. I found out about it by doing research on my own!.
The mini-pill is kind of a pain!.!.!.you have to take it at exactly the same time every day (as the nurse put it "one hour late is too late")!. It makes periods very irregular (although I don't mind this, as it also has made them very light most of the time)!.
Do your own research and take anything that you are told by non-professionals with a grain of salt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Use logic on this one!. The body that has evolved for millions of years was never exposed to a pharmaceutical cocktail in the blood stream only until recently!. No matter what any doctor tells you - the best thing to do is reduce / eliminate as many drugs as possible!.
First understand WHY you need the prozazc, seek natural alternatives!. If it's a mental disorder, most mental disorders can be resolved with proper mental technique!.
If you're going on the pill to prevent pregnancy, consider using condoms instead!. You will not be able to trade in this body in 10 years, it's going to be with you now and for the rest of your life, treat it with the utmost respect!.
Consider the amazing intelligence that operates within each cell!. And give it the resources it needs and do everything you can to eliminate potential harm!.
