Question: How to over power your emotions; So, they don't power you!?
I let my emotions get the best of me a lot; How can I not allow this to happen!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

emotions can be logically acted against!. like you can feel a strong emotion and then act differently than what it suggests!. but this can be very hard to do!. it's like going on a diet or quitting smoking!. with enough determination, you can try hard not to act as your emotions suggest but you need to really want it and try hard when you feel the emotion you don't want to listen to!.

some emotions can also be conditioned!. for example you can get over a fear by slowly introducing yourself to the thing that you fear step by step and by rewarding exposure to the thing by associating it with eating something delicious, or any other reward you can think of, and by not allowing anything negative to happen while you are exposed!.

you could try this with whatever emotions get the best of you!. maybe not food, but every time you feel that emotion and you fight whatever urge it gives you, reward yourself right away for having done that, with anything you would find a great reward!. personally i've never tried this!. so i don't know how effective it would be, but i think theoretically it should work!.

but i remember when i was younger i used to get really frustrated sometimes and want to break things, i had many holes in my walls to prove it!. but i what i eventually figured out is i could take that anger out on my set of drums, or i had also made myself a make shift boxing bag!. so if its anger you could find something like a punching bag to take out your emotions on, maybe even takeup boxing!. or any other activity you can take your frustrations out on!. or whatever it is that's harmless where you can exercise your emotion on whatever it may be without doing any harm to anything, or maybe doing something productive!. like imagine if it was anger and you took your anger out with some paint on canvas throwing the paint on and slapping the canvas choosing angry colors!. then you basically painted anger, and you could even possibly sell those, anger on a canvas!. so there can also be ways of getting the emotions to work for you if avoiding them or curbing them is too difficult!.

some people get more strong emotions more often than others though, and for that i think sometimes you'll just have to fight it real hard!.

i think the first most important step is to aknowledge that the emotions are undesirable and that you do not wish for them to take over, and when they feel like they might, remember that about you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it's toward a person and you give in, then they have the power over you ! so try with all that is in you to not show it until you are not around that person!. Then go and find a punching bag, a pillow or something and pound away!!! They just want to have power over you!. Just don't let them know they bother you, then who's got the POWER baby!? Maybe by realizing that emotional outbursts will likely just result in people avoiding you!? There's rarely any gain in emotional outbursts except to keep your internal stress level down!. (It goes up in everyone around you!.!.!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I find breathing exercises helps, or get out and go for a walk!. Get away from the situation that is causing you these emotions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
