Moving and a new psychiatrist?!

Question: Moving and a new psychiatrist!?
I'll be moving to new city in a bit and and concerned that a new psychiatist will want to put me on different pills!. I took me a lot to find the antidepressant that works best and I have been using ambien for 3 years as my doc is a sleep disorder specailist!. I'm very worried about that one!.
What happens when you get a new doctor!? Do they start from scratch the way they want to or just go with what your chart says!?
Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
As long as you think you are doing well, the psychiatrist will probably continue with the medication(s) you are taking now!.
As long as there is no major reason medically regarding your current medication(s) you are taking, it should be Ok for you to continue!.
Be sure to let the doctor know you are doing well!.
Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your new psychiatrist should not try to alter your medication if you are stable on it!. I have heard of psychiatrists wanting to change people off medications because they do not like a specific drug for some or other reason, however, even in a case like that your new psychiatrist will not force you to change medications!. You have nothing to worry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
